So much confusion over a single word comment. I'm sorry for my part in adding to the confusion.

I saw no such reply. If you know where that reply is then post a link.

That's no reply of Michael, is it? Another misunderstanding in this thread.
And for me as a non-native writer of English, 'cricket' is primarily the game. I had to use a dictionary to find the other meaning.
When you mean there's only silence, you can say, "Crickets" as in a film or TV show where the silence is only broken by the sound of a cricket chirping. Since no one answered the question, the poster said, "crickets" meaning there was only silence and no answer.

[ My personal feeling is that Michael is pretty active on this forum already, and any more time spent replying to questions like this detracts from actually working on the DM42(L) and, therefore, is a waste of time
I was simply trying to reply to your statement above.

The developers know better what is a good/bad use of their time.
Everyone should post whatever questions they feel should be answered, without you telling them what is better for the developers.

I'm looking forward to buy one (and in very very *early* Feb), but my wife also wonders why I buy so often calculators... :)

My partner can't say a word on that topic, being the owner of about 5 metal detectors, various probes and other accessories and some fairly costly radio scanning equipment :)
