The links were simulator skins, because I made those simulator skins to match the equivalent vinyl stickers for the 30B. I thought it was clear that I was referring to the stickers, but clearly not ;). I did not have convenient pictures of the stickers, hence the sim bitmap references. They are not meant to be printed, but with a little photoshopping maybe they can. For those bitmaps I did not pay attention to the proportions of the actual calculator keyboard, but instead I tweaked the proportions to fit the simulator requirement, which has slightly different proportions to the calculator.

In a document I recently re-discovered after Nigel made his DM42 implementation of the 34S, there is a picture down in Section 8. I still did not make good photos of the sticker sets, so see the link inside for photos of the stickers here.

The "blue slant" buttons are my personal preference. I also had an original 34S sheet somewhere but I did not like it and never fitted it. I saw the blue slants first on a special version printed by Eric, reported on the forum, and liked it so much that I adopted it in my own version. A quick Google brought me to this page, which likely is the one I first saw: [url=https://www.hpmuseum.org/cgi-sys/cgiwra ... ead=211646[/url[here]

Why did I like it? I never questioned myself, and just made it. Maybe because my old 11C had blue slant print. Probably.

Gloss: WP34C eRPN: More than 10 sets left: WP34C above key with ERPN

Matte: WP34C eRPN: 5 sets left: WP34C above key with ERPN

Matte: WP34S: 4 sets left: WP34S above key labels

I am interested an WP34C or WP34S overlay. (I will send PM to Jaco) Before I do, I am trying to grok WP34C vs WP34S (eRPN vs RPN)

I found these references that others may find helpful too:

I personally like Case 3 described in "HP RPN Evolves". This is how my HP calculators work. I am I correct to interpret this as eRPN?

Thanks

Cases 1 - 3 are all variants of classic RPN AFAICS. 'Entry RPN' (or eRPN) follows RPL in input - liking it or disliking it is to a major extent a matter of age and calculator education (warning: religuous topic!).

No more fundamental or fully accurate words about calculator topics were ever written! :)

This reply answers more than half of all RPN/RPL/"how the stack should work" questions and debates.

And the results of those debates are largely the same as religious debates; many concepts, arguments and "facts" are passionately explained and defended, yet no one's opinion is ever changed.

Nice turn a phrase Walter! :)

The other half could be answered by trying… try the WP34S and WP34C eRPN emulators to evaluate the differences. Or try eRPon/off on the WP34S on DM42. While at it, you could also try the simulators of WP43S (classic RPN) and C43 in eRPN mode, to feel the difference between eRPN and RPN. Now, are the two halves we have now 0.5 ENTER +, or 0.5 ENTER ENTER + 😂.

Proven here again as written elsewhere: (classic) RPN is keystroke efficiency. ;) 8-)

I am interested an WP34C or WP34S overlay. (I will send PM to Jaco) Before I do, I am trying to grok WP34C vs WP34S (eRPN vs RPN)
The main difference between the WP34C and WP34S firmware is that WP34C includes "Complex Lock Mode", which makes the entry and display of complex numbers more straightforward. To make room for the extra code, some WP34S functions were removed: the Gudermannian function, matrix row operations, and matrix LU decomposition. The files calc.bin, etc., in code\branches\complex_mode\realbuild, do not contain Entry RPN.

Jaco got interested in the WP34C and rolled his own version, which does include Entry RPN. (These are the bin files with entryRPN in their names.) This version also includes SigFig mode, double-dot fraction entry, and the Easter and Factor functions, which are all great things!

So you need to decide: do you want complex lock mode? If you do, then you need to decide whether or not you want Entry RPN. Personally, I find Entry RPN more logical, but there are costs: the occasional extra keystroke, and the risk that existing WP34S software might not work correctly.

As Jaco has mentioned, you can try the WP34S on your DM42 - look at https://gitlab.com/njdowrick/wp34s-for-dm42/ where the project is described at the bottom of the page; the .pgm file you want is https://gitlab.com/njdowrick/wp34s-for- ... 4s_top.pgm. Despite the filename, this file includes both complex lock mode and Entry RPN (the latter can be turned on and off, so you can easily try both!).

One thing that the DM42 version will always lack, however, is the amazing WP34S keyboard layout. It still looks gorgeous. Jaco's overlays are particularly well-designed, with excellent fonts and colour choices. Whatever you choose, you'll enjoy it!

I still have some (limited supply) vinyl sticker overlays left. See the links below to the Windows simulator graphics files which correspond with the overlay variations I have. At least those that I still have left are listed, not all the combinations I had.

I have:

Gloss: WP34C eRPN: More than 10 sets left: WP34C above key with ERPN

Matte: WP34C eRPN: 5 sets left: WP34C above key with ERPN

Matte: WP34S: 4 sets left: WP34S above key labels

The eRPN stickers can be used for both eRPN and non-eRPN versions as there are 2x title labels. Both WP34C variations however have in the space below the 0 "ENTRY RPN" which you may or may not like. The WP34S has none of the kind.

Regards
Jaco
Still have any of these available?

There are also official WP34S overlays available still. Please see viewtopic.php?p=17771#p17771. Just in case it slipped your attention.
