Lack of battery mention in the DM41X User Manual

Post by smartin41 »

Hi,
I don't see any mention of the battery in the DM41X User Manual.
A suggestion:
On the next iteration of the manual, add a section on the battery for the unit. Is it rechargeable, user replaceable?

Thanks,
Steve

The battery is not rechargeable. It is user replaceable.
A rechargeable version of the CR-2032 battery does exist. Swissmicros would have to indicate whether the circuitry needed for recharging from USB is implemented.

It is not.

Nor can these machines be powered at all via the USB port.

I must have been more asleep than usual when writing that comment. The DM41X and the DM42 can of course be powered by USB but there is no circuitry to recharge an ML2032.

You mean they can't be powered via USB unless a battery is installed, don't you? Else your statement would be in contradiction to my experience.

That's surprising. Doesn't the DM41X use the same hardware as the DM42?

It seems the manual needs a battery section.

Sorry guys, I must have been thinking of the Voyager units when writing the comment above!

Of course, including a list of the most well-known brands, otherwise it would be incomplete! ;)
