When pressing cat 4,5 or 6 I see.
cat 4: DIR EMPTY
cat 5: CAT EMPTY
cat 6: CAT EMPTY
I expected the list of standard functions.
I have no modules loaded or strange programs loaded and resetting the calc doesn't change this.
It is not problematic but I wonder where it is coming from.

Re: Strange behaviour when using cat 4,5 and 6
On a 41C or 41CV, pressing any invalid CAT N would always show the default CAT 3, which was a listing of the built-in functions, so if you used one of those, you may be expecting the same, however these are standard 41CX catalogs, and behave the same as the 41CX, and explained in the manual.EM41 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 19, 2020 5:58 pmWhen pressing cat 4,5 or 6 I see.

CAT 4 is a list of files in Extended Memory
CAT 5 is a list of Alarms currently set
CAT 6 is a list of current Key Assignments
It appears you have none of those (certainly after a reset) so those replies are correct.

Re: Strange behaviour when using cat 4,5 and 6
I only recently bought a CX, always had a C with quad memory ext functions time module etc and a CV.
So these are some of the exotic things I missed 30 years ago.
Nice to discover new things .

Re: Strange behaviour when using cat 4,5 and 6
Many places state the differences between a 41C/41Cv + Ext Fn/Mem + Time and a 41CX are only the functions listed in the "-CX TIME" and "-CX EXT FCN" header sections, but there are several others such as these additional CATalogs, some additional Alarm and Stopwatch features, plus some other minor tweaks.
All the changes are described in Appendix I in Vol 2 of the 41CX manuals.
