HP-41X Alpha Legend Style

Post by rprosperi »

Which of the 2 different styles used by HP is more useful today for the back of the 41X, the original 41C/CV version (w/APPEND ASTO, ARCL, etc.) or the later 41CX style which omits most of those and instead shows the ED key assignments instead? Of course the new keys and locations need to be adjusted, but which of the 2 styles is more useful, AND WHY??

Step right up, and be among the first to have your opinion sway the crowd, influence fellow customers and win the day. :geek:

"Votes" without some rationale are pointless, please don't cast one that way...

How many use ED?
I never did.

Anyhow I do not have a need to look at the back to find my alphas: I still remember them.

So, in the end, no strong opinion.

There are many valid reasons to include the secondary alpha assignnents on the rear shell: tradition, newbies, senility, rare use of the 41...

But one should also take time to include elements from swissmicro's dm41x manual. Not sure yet, which would be needed, but I strongly suggest we should look into it together,

I've seen a rear shell design for the WP34s which also makes use of that opportunity. And there are off images already that serve as workarounds for quick reference...

I often use ED$ but also 41Z+ and also ...
Then I work with impressions on SELPHY according to my desires. So I don't even have to turn my calculator over. Very handy.

I never used ED so I vote for the CV back.
Maybe a multicolour CV/CX combi is possible ?

How could a typo not wither under your austere gaze...

Feel free to correct it before someone else finds it. Yes, you can. 8-)
