Perfectly OK with me!
Is ≈I an alternative? Just playing around now...
WP43 Alternative key layout --> C43
Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
I believe in free will. Just can't help it.
Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
Yes, ≈I is an interesting option, especially since the 43S compatible ROUNDI will still exist - the key icon can be what we like.
RI does sort of loose its meaning after an hour or two where the ≈I does not. I like it.
Any takers?
[RND], [RI] or [≈I] ?
Here a mockup to see.

Maybe another alternative, given the context of other labels (e.g. [a b/c] and [.d]):

Can't we have "->Int" ?

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
With this process, one of my drives is to shorten the text above the [Σ+] button, and [->INT] is not shorter than [RND] or [RNDI]. If we had a short label on blue maybe, but there is is not short, i.e. [a b/c] is there. (Your last post refers: I do not want to change the [a b/c] as there is already another mode [d/c] being toggled by this button (Standard 43S functionality) and I do not want to depart from the 43S manual (p146/320) in this instance.)
So, I am targeting the shorter [RI], or [≈I], I could include here, or based on your idea also [->I].
What I do like about the [≈I] of Haakon, is the fact that it is graphically indicating an approximation of a kind.
The arrow [->I] is definitely an option, depending on more comments.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
Another option would be to have ->N, with N the mathematical notion for natural numbers.
I know you won't want to change ab/d, but in this vain it could become ->Q with Q the mathematical notation for the rationals.

Maybe a glyph for the arrow to save space? I agree that the concept is more of a conversion than an approximation.
