I made a graphical program for calculating coordinates of the 4 greatest satellites of Jupiter ( Io , Europe , Ganymede , Callisto ).
Calculate the positions of the 4 Galilean satellites of Jupiter on 10 October 2019 at 0h 50m 10s UT
10.102019 ENTER
0.5010 XEQ "Jupiter"
STOP - stop the program, you can see Y = DATE DD.MMYYYY, Z = HH.MMSS
<REW - animation rearwards
◼ - stop animation
FRW> - animation forward
HOUR+ - one hour forward
HOUR- - one hour rearwards
I use part of the algorithm from Jean-Marc Baillard.

Re: Jupiter Moons
That is very interesting.
What is the time increment of the Animation?

One Hour later still fascinating

Well that is going onto my DM42!
Great work!

Thanks a bundle.

Re: Jupiter Moons
Back again, Callisto seems really to quit Jupiter BUT Ganymede is still there to keep it in he circle ... Try to play at year 5000 ! Amazing !Josef wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:24 pmI made a graphical program for calculating coordinates of the 4 greatest satellites of Jupiter ( Io , Europe , Ganymede , Callisto ).

You know what ?
I did buy my first Calc because of Astronomy : Back in 1977 I buyed a Telecsope and needed to compute stellar/planetes positions and I did have to program some stuffs like you did and I became later on a computer Analyst...
Without my Telescope and my TI-57 and then my HPxx's (HP33, HP34...etc) I would not be here tonight .
Explain that to the "other common people", no way I am afraid ! No way.
Thanks again to mix Astronomy and Programming, Thank You very much.
My last reading : Carlo Rovelli, "The Order Of Time" and still amazed, but not the only last reading(s) ...
Does Time exist ?
When I look at those Jovians satellites I can see much clearer... Look at Callisto

Re: Jupiter Moons
Does the 43S need a planetarium included????
Re: Jupiter Moons
No, it just helps in Astronomy
