Brilliant Dani !!
I absolutely love the how clean and clear rows 2 & 3 are now !

The question now is easier. On the new layout, we could indeed throw away SAVE (the I/O menu is shown on the screen below), STK could move to [g][1].
FILL could re-appear at [g][Up]. Or we could leave it like this for now. Instead of FILL, we could consider CLRSTK on [g][Up] directly below ENTER.

In this example I use the shaded labels. They are growing on me and I'm liking them more). As said earlier, the emulator reads in a CSS file with the colours, so it is so easy to exchange shaded labels and underlined labels.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
This is my mistake, I haven't made myself clear enough. The fact that on the last line there are again left functions and right menus seems to be no problem to me. But that has now resolved, SHOW has landed here, now it works almost like the 42S.
Before the paper scavenger hunt starts again:
R.BR on [f] [7], B.BR on [g] [7], VIEW on [f] [8] and INFO on [g] [8].
I like it also. But don't throw away the last iteration.

One of the possible future uses of this position could be the CUSTEM1 menu?

I agree with the suggestions.
"Further on SAVE:
I checked the manual, under SAVE, and now I think there is sense to have SAVE on a button instead of in I/O, i.e. to make a flash memory backup, simply hit [g] [SAVE], so I guess SAVE stays: I quote:
"Flash Memory (FM)
In addition to the RAM provided, your WP 43S allows you to access FM for voltage-fail-safe storage of user programs and data. The first section of FM is a backup region, holding the image of the entire RAM (i.e. user program memory, registers, and WP 43S states) as soon as you have executed a SAVE. The remaining part of FM is for programs only.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
I'm not quite sure now, but for me this sounds like the function "Calc State" in the DM42. [SETUP] [2nd Calc. State >] [2nd Save State]. All ASSSIGN, register contents, variables etc. are written there into a SAVE file and can be loaded again after flashing a new firmware. Of course I can also be wrong.Jaymos wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 8:31 pm....

The changes discussed above.
I think the last changes are very effective.
Changes: Up, Dn, 1, 2, [.], 7, 8, X<>Y, CHS, SIN, COS.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
Another little note, but then is enough from my side for today. We have violated the law 'no stack operations on the cursor keys'. Couldn't you put CNST on [g] [Cursor UP], CNST needs a lot of cursor operations to scroll through the menus anyway. And then distribute STK, CPX and EXP as logically as possible across the [g] positions of [x<>y], [CHS] and [EEX].

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
I particularly like the shifts on [SIN] [COS] [TAN], SHOW landing on [.], CPX close to COMPLEX, and HOME close to the shift key.
R.BR and B.BR look fine, also the shaded menu options are growing on me. They especially look nicer than underlines when the label texts are long.
What is the metric tensor in imperial units?

I was worried we are on a roll, missing something important.

Re: 43S Alternative key layout --> WP43C
What is the f() shift option on the [EXIT] key? Do we have to g() shift [EXIT] to switch the calculator off? If yes - isn't this a bit obscure?Jaymos wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 9:40 pmThanks for the feedback.H2X wrote: ↑Sun Aug 04, 2019 9:34 pmI particularly like the shifts on [SIN] [COS] [TAN], SHOW landing on [.], CPX close to COMPLEX, and HOME close to the shift key.
