Hi all,
I want to crunch numbers with my DM15L and I need the power to last more than what the battery can give.
Can I use USB port to power the DM15L while it is "running" ?
Sincerely,
Boubker.

Re: [DM15L] USB Power?
Sorry, the USB juice does not power the CPU of the DM15L.

Should be possible to 3D print a plastic CR2032 and add two electrodes to it, then power it from an external supply though? Or perhaps some easier solution involving crocodile/alligator clips and a power supply?
Edit: googled it, http://shelleybhomeandholiday.com/magic ... -set-of-2/

Re: [DM15L] USB Power?
If soldering is an option, I would use a 2*AA battery holder like this:
Then solder the negative black wire to the USB connector and the positive red wire to the top of the CR2032 battery holder on the PCB.

Re: [DM15L] USB Power?
If your needed calculations require more than the DM15L can provide on an entire battery, then perhaps you have chosen the wrong tool for the job. As awesome and fast as the DM15L is, it certainly isn't the right tool for every numerical task. If your solution absolutely must be handheld, the HP Prime is likely the most powerful handheld calculator made, maybe you should check it out.

Re: [DM15L] USB Power?
It's not an issue... just asking...
When I am away from my desk, I have my DM15L (or DM41L) and always an USB battery pack... and I don't have an HP Prime...
My next 200€ will definitely go to the DM42
Just my .02€ to improve already GREAT products :
- May be next HW version of DMxxL could also be powered from USB?
- May be next SW version of DM15L could manage alarms (there already is a clock and a buzzer and the code may already exist from DM41L)?
Sincerely,
Boubker.
