It looks like it's out of print. It was compiled by Herbst and Schiller, copyright 1988. Mine is an artifact from my University days. It's about 100 pages, with conversion tables, properties of materials, steam tables, pipe information, etc. It's kind of like a very cut down version of Glover's Pocket Ref.

Here's an example of a 17bii+ w/case listing on eBay, that has pics of the case:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-17bll-Finan ... 601332479
$33 w/shipping (though in this case, only to USA).

Not unusual, pretty much a closed market: America first!rprosperi wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 2:30 pmHere's an example of a 17bii+ w/case listing on eBay, that has pics of the case:

But the same case was apparently sold with the predecessor, too, see e.g. here: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Hewlett-Packard ... 3410388436 . Just for your information.

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size
thanks very much both. I have to say I much prefer the leather versions. Have seen too many tatty flaking vinyl ones.
I bought a 17b with folding case on eBay, so that will do for my 42s.
The Voyagers will do in the tobacco pouches until I find something better.

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size
I don't think that is an original case for the 17bii+gold model. The original 10bii and the 17bii+gold came with a case similar to the later 17bii+silver, but the bottom of the case is somewhat rounded, following the contour of those machines, while the 17bii+silver case is straight/flat, again following the design of the bottom of that machine.Walter wrote: ↑Sat Mar 30, 2019 5:05 pmBut the same case was apparently sold with the predecessor, too, see e.g. here: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Hewlett-Packard ... 3410388436 . See the photo here for an example: http://www.samsoncables.com/catalog/pro ... 7BIIPCCase, though in this case it is a 3rd-party case, and they actually show a 17bii+silver being put in. It will barely fit, but the point is the early model HP cases were wounded and the later ones straight.
Back to the original point, I think the DMxxL machines would also fit in this case from Samson too, though maybe a bit tight (top-to-bottom).

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size
thanks Bob; shame those Samson cases aren't easily available here. Buying from US without an included customs service can result in excess charges being applied at this end (e.g. "handling charge").

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size
Maybe this site will help.
https://www.calculator.ch/tags/Protective-cases
E.g. this one displays a HP Voyager Model in the case: https://www.calculator.ch/item/CCXHSTSW
However, I'm not sure they would send you the cases outside Switzerland. At least you could use this site for searching a case in the right size. It seems as most calculators are bigger than the SwissMicros "L" models.

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size

Re: Case for Voyager 'L' size
There are pretty good photos of the 17bii+ Silver case in this eBay auction:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Hewlet-Packard ... 4269816345
It's pretty cheap too, only $25 + $4 ship (for US buyers) and you get a whole extra pretty nice calculator as well.
As for size, the 17bII+ and DM42 are very close to the same height and width, while the DM42 is thinner, so it fits well in this case, but the old Pioneer leather cases are still nicer (even if more expensive)
