any chance of a new font?

I was wondering: has there ever been any thought to adding new font(s) to the DM1x models?

I would like to see a font more like the original HP models, e.g. an emulation of the slanted 7-segment digits from the corresponding HP-1x units.

It's nice to have a choice of fonts, but I must be picky, since I don't really like any of them. The one I normally use is a little spindly, but I find all the others either way too heavy-weight, or just plain fugly.

I have a "real" 12C, and every time I pick it up, I think how nice the digits look, and then I pick up my DM15/16 and wish I could get those looking more like the 12C.

Is it possible, theoretically? If so, is there any chance that SwissMicros might consider it?

The comparatively low resolution of the LCD used on the DM1x/41 does make it a bit of a challenge.

thanks yes, I confused myself: initially, I thought the pixel-based DMs would be better than the clunky segments of the original units. But, of course, although pixels are more flexible, they're not necessarily higher res, and the segments themselves are obviously already slanted; doing that with pixels won't work well.

Ah well, never mind; thanks.

Hard to tell how it would look. That looks like 7x7?

The font I prefer on the DM15L seems to be 9 high x 5 wide, with space between the numbers that might allow wider chars?

On the DM15L, the font seems to be 7x9, while the C64 font fits into 7x7. The main difference is that on the calculator, "." and "," aren't full characters, instead they are placed between the numbers. On the calculator, the C64 font might look like this:
