Once we get all the production parts, we'll start taking orders for this machine on the website. There will be a bit of a twist to this, one that should generate some interest... :)
... and then first come first serve? :?:

Is the commitment list still valid ?

Or do we have to create a new one ?
The "commitment list" was just so we could get an idea of the viability of the production run. It generated enough interest so the run happened.

IMHO
The production run was decided because peoples committed themselves to buy a number of units.
That will be very frustrating if a person who has committed itself were not able to buy its units because for some reason it misses the availability window.
If you could at least, send to the list members, an advanced warning with the official availability date so we can plan for it.
Better will be to allow the list member to buy its committed units before general availability.

Agreed. I'm not on the list and cannot guarantee the money at time of release, so I wouldn't want to commit myself but also wouldn't want to deny someone who has committed.

+1 8-)

Although it's looking nicely, its computing power per sfr is simply far lower than the one of the DM11L or DM15L.

"sfr" ?

True, but the new h/w will make this still much faster than any of the original Voyagers, even if hobbled a bit by the limited programming commands and editor. Easily the fastest entry-level programmable machine out there.

But mostly, it's new, strictly limited, and real purty.

Finally, no doubt it will be a sound investment for eBay and other collectible sellers. 2-3 years from now, these will probably be selling for $200-250, and 5 years from now, much more than that. It's a strategic limitation that I only buy and use calculators...

I think Walter meant CHF (Swiss Franc).

Since only 100 will be made, could I request a specific serial number when I order? Not #1, #10, or #100, though.

All will be revealed when all the parts needed are delivered. And to answer the next question (Sylvain?), we don't yet have an official date.

Hello Godwin,
I was not expecting and neither asking that you disclose the general availability date before the DM-10L is ready for distribution.
We have been waiting for at least 18 months since the beginning of this project, we can surely wait more.
I was just pleading that it would be nice if people who committed themselves were being notified and/or allowed to buy their units maybe a day or two before general availability.
In all cases, I will follow closely the website and I will buy my two units when the calculator become available with or without advanced warning.
Kind regards,
Sylvain

Hmm... Ça me donne une idée. Je vais voir ce qu'on peut faire avec Michael.

That gives me an idea. I'll see what we can do with Michael.
