Distinguishing between shift keys

Post by rechlin »

On the version of the documentation embedded in the calculator (v0.06 2023-04-24), there is no way to distinguish between the two colors of shift keys. Both look like a thin dark gray vertical line. First, I think this should be widened to be more visible. Second, since we don't get color here like on the web version, is there some way you could make them different?

One way to do this that might be nice would be a left shift icon vs a right shift icon matching the annunciators, though the keys don't have the icons like the 32SII has. Another if bitmapped graphics aren't possible could be a filled black box (maybe with white "LS") vs a white box (with black outline and black "RS"). Or reverse my color suggestions -- neither orange/gold nor blue seems particularly white or black, but the point is to have them different.

Hi rechlin,

this has already been addressed in this second version of the help file:

https://technical.swissmicros.com/dm32/ ... 2help.html

Download it and overwrite the same file of the internal FAT disk in folder \HELP.

I've just done this but links don't work and an error about names length appears. I have reinstaled the originall file :|

It's the same file v0.06 2023-04-24 that's currently loaded on the FAT disk of the DM32.

The current HELP file for the DM32 (as of this writing) is v2.60 (2023-06-02) which I uploaded to my personal server just for you:
https://holyjoe.net/DM32/dm32help.html

When Swiss Micros updates their online help file, I'll remove the above from my server. Meanwhile, just copy the above to your DM32's HELP folder and enjoy!

Something went wrong yesterday. I tried again today and the file (shorter than the one I get yesterday) seems to work well.
(Nothing about lower case labels and variables in this version; can't wait...)
