The first two sentences of Section 5.4.7 are, "Numbers in equations and programs can’t be saved as fractions. They can be keyed in as such, but are converted to decimal when the equation or program line is saved."
This was correct in the HP 32SII, but it is not true at all in the DM32. When literal numbers are keyed as fractions into the DM32's program or EQN memory, they are stored exactly as keyed. They are not even simplified. Example: Key 2.6.3 (fraction notation for 2+6/3, which of course equals 4) into a program or EQN. It will be *displayed* as 4, and it *evaluates* as 4, but it is stored internally as 2.6.3, exactly as keyed in. Press SHOW to see how it's stored internally.
Therefore, I suggest deleting these two sentences, unless you want to replace them with something like, "Fractions which are keyed into equations or programs can be viewed by pressing SHOW in the EQN LIST or in program mode."
Section 5.4.7, first two sentences are incorrect
Re: Section 5.4.7, first two sentences are incorrect
Thanks. This subtlety has passed under my radar. Fixed for next version of the manual.
