I am curious to hear any news on the new calculator from SM, the DM32 and would like to get one, even though I am of course fully committed to what was called the opposite end of the spectrum (C47).
But any new RPN calculator is interesting for me, in this case also because of the supposedly updated SM hardware.
If nothing else, I think we should support the company, I know I love the fact that they produce all these wonderful models.

Re: Any news on DM32?
While specific dates aren't available, late summer looks likely. Simultaneous development of the new h/w platform (exacerbated by supply chain issues), new DMCP and the DM32 application is taking longer than planned (clearly). However, one really good side effect of the delay is that it has allowed creation of an entirely new capability, to leverage the enhanced resources of the new platform, while still retaining the familiar simplicity of the HP-32SII programming model and easily accessed suite of functions. Stay tuned, your patience will be well-rewarded.

This is great news.
We are listening of course and hope that the summer will be nice and warm for all.

Thanks for this reply, can't wait, still amazed that brand new good RPN calculators are available again on the market!rprosperi wrote: ↑Wed Apr 12, 2023 2:59 pmWhile specific dates aren't available, late summer looks likely. And it was you of course, describing the spectrum between DM32 and C47, nice idea. There's a place for both and everything in between - at least on my desk

Wau! At last, and nice specs. I love that it has USB-C now. And 160 MHz ARM processor, double clock speed!
I could easily imagine one sitting on my desk at work

Re: Any news on DM32?
Now, that the DM32 is out, what are everyone's thoughts on purchasing a DM42 vs DM32 as a first time Swissmicros purchase? The hardware on the DM32 appears to be an upgrade over the DM42, but the software capabilities of the DM42 appear to be more on paper - just like the 32SII vs the DM42 (support matrices, etc.). (Coming from a long-time user of the 32SII & 48GX in undergrad)
Re: Any news on DM32?
The 32 (DM or HP) has almost all of its functions easily visible and accessible from the keyboard. That makes it immensely practical for a machine on your desk.
Historically a 42 or 41 was better for programming - but that need has long gone and everyone uses Excel. Can you imagine saying to your boss: "Look at my analysis on my DM42" versus "Look at my analysis in Excel"? (Besides the boss needs to receive a copy by email so he can get his teenage kid to check it for him overnight!)
Re: Any news on DM32?
I could not agree more. I would dream of an HP-15C with a modern, 4 lines screen and an updated firmware to display the instructions textually.
Re: Any news on DM32?
You should also take a look at C47, if you want that kind of thing, if I may say so!
