Works great on my DM42.

Finally That was the update I've been waiting for:
your PCM and Thomas 3.0.9

Thank you so much. DM42 is so much better with your PCM

I'm a big fan of the PCM firmware and I can't understand why Swissmicros hasn't commented this improvement yet. Maybe it would be interesting for everyone to know whether a (at least partial) transfer to the official firmware is planned or if there is no interest.

But as I mentioned in an older thread, I am not a big fan of the "temporary shifting" of the PCM. On the one hand it doesn't correspond to the normal menu behavior and operation is a little inconsistent as a result. On the other hand there are three custum-menu lines and so you do not specifically reach the desired menu line but rather something a little random depending on where you were (1-6 7-12 13-18). But I'm happy to put up with that because of the many advantages of PCM.

What bothers me massively is shifting between 1-6 and 13-18 instead to 7-12. Which means that shift on menus with 12 functions are often shows an empty menu.

Putting own functions on 1-6 and 13-18 is also no good solution, since the PCM would then behave in the opposite way to the original menus of the 42.

If you can't avoid "temporary shifting", then I would think it is better you shifted to the down-arrow line because shift corresponds rather to "further" than to "back".

Thanks for nice words.

Considering "temporary shifting" - let me think if I can make it configurable...

This is awesome! Any idea why this hasn’t been incorporated as an option to the DM42?

No, but:
  • additional Quality Assurance effort on SwissMicros side
  • It does not seem so easy to incorporate new Free42 versions into DM42 and it is difficult to maintain code that SwissMicros did not develop.
I always wait for an update until ljubo has released a pcm version.
