Source for additional MOD files

Post by Ángel Martin »

The URL below points to a ZIP file with the most recent versions of my modules - plus a few extras: http://www.swissmicros.com/dm41x/fat/

Generally speaking the MOD files on that zip archive are identical to those found on www.hp41.org and other sources (pls. mind the revisions and release dates). I don't remember having to modify them for the DM41X, so they should all be 100% compatible (famous last words...) . Do report incidences if you run into some.

Remarks:

Most of the advanced modules use the LIBRARY #4 ROM. Make sure you always load that one/.

Some have different versions depending on the page# to plug it in:
- If you don't use the printer page#6 is available for the OSX_BSX4 and HEPAX_4F to use.
- page #7 is also available (no HP-IL folks), so those two above and the WARP_Core can be safely plugged in it as well.

Ángel,

I think I found a discrepancy between the AMMC/OSX module and the manual. CAT”1 doesn’t bring up the selection menu as stated in the manual. CAT”0 however does bring up the menu. I assume this was a recent change that has not made it to the manual.

This did change with the latest OSX builds, and IMHO it's an excellent improvement. :D I found having to hit [1] twice slightly annoying to see CAT-1, now it's back to how God and HP intended it. And even when using HP-IL (which you can't on the 41X) how often did anyone use CAT-0 anyhow? A subtle but really appreciated change. :!:

Ahum! to double check after reorganizing an IL loop with several peripherals in it ?
I agree that today it is irrelevant on the DM41X but what if in some future HP-IL is implemented over USB ?
Anyway, it is easy to redo it in a FOCAL program.

And it's still there, anyway: just select '0' from the CAT-0 menu.

That's correct: no loss of functionality with the move from CAT'1 to CAT'0.

In fact it's the other way around, now it's also covering CAT'7 : if the HP-IL Mass Storage is present it executes DIR, but if not it'll list the FAT of the module plugged in page#7

And "H" will call HEPDIR if the HEPAX is plugged in as well.

Plugging in the new OS X_BS4X Module is causing my DM41X to immediately power off.

Do you have LIB4 loaded as well? Lib4 is essential for OSX.

I installed this same OSX (I use the Page-7 flavor) with no problems.

If you are loading LIB4 and still have the issue, try the Page-7 version and see if that's different.

What other modules are you trying to install at the same time.
