.. is shown as a 'burst', in alpha labels or alpha lines.
I would attach screenshots, but when you press SHIFT, the burst changes back to '#', and the screenshot looks normal.
No kidding.

The issue is Confirmed.
You can capture the screen if the cursor is positioned on a non-issue program step, see below:

Thanks for the reports. This is a known issue, occurs with several special characters, and only occurs in multi-line edit modes; when in single-line edit mode, the characters appear properly. This is on the confirmed bug list and will likely be fixed in a future release.
