If you start an "Activate USB Disk" connexion, and when the calc displays :
"Connecting to USB..." (you have to be very very fast)
you remove the USB cable...
then the calc freezes with "Connecting to USB..." on the screen and only a hard RESET will get you out of there!
and the answer to your question is: NO, I did not do it on purpose, just victim of a bad cable connexion

Re: Calc freezes when removing USB cable
Funny I had a similar thing, not being blessed with the ravages of intelligence, I forgot all about the reset button.
Opened the calc and removed the battery
There then followed some anxious moments as I had to reformat the FAT and then restore from a backup. That didn't work initially as I forgot to put the modules into the FAT before restoring. After working that out (well the calcualtor told me if I'm honest), I repeated the steps and all was good.
Lesson learned!!!!
With me what happened was Microsoft Explorer decided to throw a wobbler, after that Windows would not recognize the USB even after a reboot and the calculator was completely locked up.
All good now though and back to normal
