DM41X V1.13 / DMCP 3.19

Post by grsbanks »

DM41X v1.13:

Fixes:
  • USB/BAT icon in PRGM mode
  • HEPAX RAM pages being clobbered by ROM images
  • Sluggish behaviour under some conditions
  • Module load after Available Module list changes with up/down keys
  • Repainting of stopwatch in SLOW mode
USB/BAT icon in PRGM mode

The battery status indicator would not change from battery power to USB power or vice-versa if the USB cable was (dis)connected while the calculator is in PRGM mode. This has been fixed.

HEPAX RAM pages being clobbered by ROM images

This is the known bug from the previous firmware version.

If HEPAX RAM pages were set up and then another ROM module loaded, the new ROM module would clobber the HEPAX RAM page. The work-around pending a fix was to ensure that hep-mem.mod was loaded last of all. This has now been fixed and the work-around is no longer necessary.

Sluggish behaviour under some conditions

The DM41X could become unusually slow in USER mode after invoking the CST feature or when using the SI_XA layout with a long (~20 chars) string in the alpha register. Both instances have been fixed.

Module load after Available Module list changes with up/down keys

The problem that caused module loading to fail after moving modules up or down in the AM list has been identified and fixed.

Repainting of stopwatch in SLOW mode

The stopwatch is now repainted normally (instead of every 2-3 seconds) in SLOW mode.

Enhancements:
  • ROM Map
    • Trace origin of RAM pages
    • New module by page view
  • Support for flag 44 (continuous ON)
  • Flag overview screen
  • New SI_XY layout
The user manual is available at: https://www.swissmicros.com/dm41x/doc/d ... er_manual/

DMCP V3.19

There is no update to DMCP from the previous firmware version.

The firmware is available in the usual place.

No word about auto-power-off disabling for the DM41X ?

A bug in the read_what_the_poster_wrote function, maybe ? ;)

Yeah... no commitment on fixing that problem... as soon as you think you've fixed it, it pops up somewhere else... it's as if the problem isn't there at all...

Update went well but the clock now blinks with each second and in SW mode the minute digits and RXX digits flash random figures.
In SLOW mode only as before. This happens random one or two times a minute.
I tested again after a hard paperclip reset to be sure none of my own settings are causing it.

We're aware of the minor flashing in clock and occasional jitter in SW (SLOW mode only), but this is improved over not seeing updates for 2-3 seconds. A 'better' fix may be possible in the future, but as this is at best barely noticeable and with no loss of functionality, we opted for the flash.

Thanks for installing BETA-6 and verifying the fix works in your machine so quickly. :)

This update installed flawlessly, and is working fine for me and my uses.
Thanks a million to all who are working to make this such an excellent system!
