Step by step loading and implementing .mod files?

Post by DanLinsch »

Has anyone seen any such documentation or YT videos? I keep getting an error message, when I try to load and activate chess.mod.

I did run a search for anything that might help here and also on the interweb, but I can't seem to get through this.

The dm41x user manual explains this in detail in chapter 4.

How about invoking the programs in the mod file?
Catalog 2, shows them available, but I forgot how to call one.

I have the finance and the hp-16c modules active and ready to use.

Is it XEQ function?

How do I find the function name to call?

While the steps are noted in Chapter 4, examples are not given. I was able to finally load and run Chess after posting the above, but it is a rather convoluted process.

Thanks,

Dan

I'm just seeing this now, sorry I couldn't help earlier.

If you think this is convoluted, never, ever try this with a 41CL. :D 8-)

That is saying a lot, since you've been doing this stuff for what, over 40 years? :)

Shhh..... never say that out loud. While true, saying it can lead one to think we're getting old. :o

I've watched most of your HHC sessions on YT, so I know I've got more gray hair than you do!

And while I was at that first (PCC? HHC?) session at the Corvallis HP plant about 40 years ago, I dropped away from the HP world a couple decades ago, and I know that guys like you have forgotten more than I'll even learn about these tiny computers.

I also miss examples for many functions of the DM41x in the manual. The instructions often not only assume the 41CX as prior knowledge, sometimes CL knowledge is also taken for granted. As a 41CV user, I often felt left behind because I associated other approaches with the terms used in the DM-manual.

Sometimes a short example can be realy helpfull - like in the NAME ERR Thread for "example" ;)

One enter plus on this.

Absolute newbie to the functions and capabilities of the 41 and 42 series of HP calculators.

My experience prior was with the 12c and 15c mostly.

Had a 15c from the original run sometime in the late 80's.
Then a 12c after my job changed to be more accounting related. Both of those disappeared over time.

Thank goodness that most of the old documentation is available on-line, possibly in major collections of other HP related items.

PS, found the HP Finance Pack documentation on line and was able to use some of the functions.
