This happened:
1. I connected the USB-Cable to DM41X and then to my MacBook Air (Big Sur)
2. via CST I enabled USB disk mode
3. Drive showed up on Mac
4. Drag and dropped a .MOD to the MOD folder via Finder
5. Copy window showed up, took a long time, Drive was ejected with error "not correct ejected"
6. DM41X still shows USB disk mode
7. ON key doesn't do anything
Any advice?
Ciao

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
Yesterday evening I left the DM41X alone, wanted to pull the battery this morning.
....memory lost in the morning, device responding normal, now I want to check the USB disc
...USB disc erased completely!
But from "SETUP>File>Show Disk Info" everything is fine, so did a restore and back to normal we go...

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
First of all I'm glad it's working again. I am coming from my two DM42s and have lost the FAT partition due to an interruption of the USB connection several times. Two questions.
1) If we rule out cables and assume the USB connectors are long enough to get proper contact with the socket, what could cause the USB connection to break up? I have never seen unwanted disconnects with USB sticks, MP3 players, external HDDs, etc. My DM42s are the first devices showing this behaviour.
2) If the connection breaks up even though no data is being written at the point in time, why does the FAT partition get damaged?
I am asking this here, because the issue reported for the DM41x sounds so similar to the DM42.

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
1) Same for me, never experienced such thing before. Devices where not moved during my drag'n'drop in Finder, so I rule out also the cabling. But maybe a hiccup at my MacBook Air?!
2) Im my case there was a WRITE at the FAT ongoing, so an interruption of the connection might cause what happened here.
I got my DM41X only 4 days ago (but low serial 00320?), so I will watch things thoroughly!

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
And it happened AGAIN!
This time during read of the USB disc.
Pulled the battery, FAT was ok, could do a restore direkt from USB disc from my backup (just done 2 minutes before!).
Not happy......

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
OK, I did the obvious...changed the USB-cable (the only thing I can change anyway).
Used before a never used before one (You know...new toy new cable...), maybe THIS was the problem!
Now I take a "well used but never made problem"-cable...
will keep you updated here

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
Fingers crossed. In my case I used three different cables (with extra long plugs). I am using an iMac with Big Sur. Maybe it's due to the OS - there are a few reports out there about randomly disconnected HDDs.

Re: DM41X stuck in USB disk mode
No probs in the past 2 days despite some "heavy" usage!
I blame the USB-cable causing the problems!
