[DOCUMENTATION] SLOW, FAST, 24MHz and 80MHz

Post by Boub65 »

Hi all,
There is no mention in the DM41X documentation that SLOW mode is independent from CPU Speed (same speed at 24MHz on batteries and 80MHz on USB)...
... whereas FAST is 3x faster on USB than on batteries.

May be it could be added in the 3.9.3 section of the documentation.
Sincèrement, Sincerely, 73,
Boubker

It is explained indirectly, SLOW is described in the manual as follows: "SLOW corresponds to original 41C speed" - this excludes different slow speeds.
My programmable calculators - former: CBM PR100, HP41CV, HP28S, HP11C - current: HP48G(256kB), HP35S, Prime, DM41X, DM42

I know Peet...
But the chapter about CPU speed is different from the chapter on SLOW/FAST and there is no cross reference. So there could be some doubts...

So something like :
"SLOW corresponds to original 41C speed and is independent from CPU speed, FAST is roughly 50 times faster @24MHz CPU speed (and about 150 times faster @80MHz CPU speed). Cf. Chapter 2.2 about CPU Speeds"

would be more explicit/precise for newbies.

BTW... Sorry, english is my third langage... so I am sure that a much better wording exists out there to explain that SLOW is independent from CPU speed and that FAST is not...
