I apologize

Post by HPMike »

I would have replied to my previous thread, but it has been locked. I posted that the DM41X had caused my HP 88240B IR Thermal Printer printer head to fail, and this turns out to be incorrect. I had tested it first with my HP41CV with an IR module, and it worked fine. Shortly thereafter, I used it with my DM41X, and it immediately went haywire, all pins firing continuously as it moved slowly across the paper and burning a hole at the end. After that, the print head was dead and would not print anything at all. So, I simply, and as it turns out incorrectly, assumed that the DM41X had sent a bad signal that caused the print head to overload and burn up. Today I received a replacement printer, tested it with both my HP41CV with an IR module and with the DM41X, and it worked properly with both calculators. So, I humbly apologize for my shoot-from-the-hip response to this event without thinking it out more carefully before jumping to a conclusion on the root cause.

You're posting in Central Europe - please don't behave like a Texan. 8-)
