Does the 41X have a low resolution crystal, like the DM42?

Post by cappy »

I posted a message in the DM42 forums about my 42 real time clock losing time when not being used for months.
The responses indicated that the crystal oscillator wasn’t precise enough to accurately keep time over a long period.
I’m curious if the 41X has a similar low precision crystal oscillator.

Here is that original post, for reference.

Quite accurate if you set the right accuracy factor with the CORRECT function.

Well actually the CORRECT function doesn't work because the hardware isn't there, i asked myself the same question some time ago.

But you can copy the file rtccalib.cfg to the root of the FAT disk.
You write the correction factor in this file, the right factor you can conveniently calculate with this spreadsheet https://www.cjoint.com/doc/20_08/JHjgDj ... ection.xls made by over_score.
I have less than a second drift in two months now with my 3 DM calcs with correction, out of the box its a few seconds a day.

Ooops, sorry!
I forgot that I also have the rtccalib.cfg file, so correct seemed to work.
