I ordered last Friday and got a shipment notice on Monday to California USA. The shipment notice didn't have carrier information or tracking number. How does SM usually ship to the US? I emailed support to ask but I haven't gotten a reply.
They ship via Swiss Post, and there is no tracking number. In the past it has taken about two weeks to arrive in the USA, but with all the COVID-19 slowdowns, it will probably take longer this time around.
Though indeed slower in the early Pandemic period, I recently received a shipment from SwissMicros, sent in the normal way, in 11 days (to NY), so it's back to normal in general, but of course individual cases can and will vary.

Ordered 26 sept and today my new 41X arrived.
I have the latest DM42 and the beta 41 to compare and this is the best keyboard of all.
It feels almost like a HP41 keyboard.
The alpha key is a lighter blue than I expected but the keyboard text matches the colour which is lighter than on the beta.
Backside also looks nice, very satisfied till now.

Tracking numbers are not so common in Central Europe. Postal service is reliable, no need to watch your parcel traveling.

I’m not so concerned about reliability as I am knowing when it’s arriving so I can arrange to be home, especially If they require a signature when it’s delivered.

This is a matter of neighbourhood here or you allow the deliverer to put it at a special place on your ground. But desiderata vary ...

Signature will not be required. It will be delivered by USPS, and the package is small enough to fit in your mailbox or through a mail slot in a door.

My DM41X has been delivered today. (SN: 00074)

Code: Select all

Ordered.: 2020-09-25
Shipped.: 2020-09-28
Received: 2020-10-05 -> 8 days from Switzerland to Canada, very good
First visual impression: great keyboard feeling and yellow/blue button painting solved.

Finally a keyboard that works, it took SM several years to solve this issue, but they nailed it.
The system keyboard test must be revised though, you have to be a seer to find the right key sequence to press.
I hope they will eventually sell a DM42 & DM41X beta replacement keyboards.

I am a little lost on some of the options, but that is to be expected.

I was very skeptical, but SM prove me wrong and I am very happy about it.
Great machine overall, final product was worth the effort, congratulation.

Thanks to: Michael Steinmann, David Jedelsky, Godwin Stewart, Robert Prosperi, Ángel Martin and all the beta testers.

Sylvain
