Will this design affect the DM42 as well, i.e. will also the DM42 be allowed to profit from it?
Yes. Profit indeed. :D
I appreciate it. Is there anything like a schedule?
Yes, there is.

It's contents should be clear very soon... 8-)

I was initially going to reply with Jerry Pournelle's famous "Real Soon Now", but then decided that wasn't appropriate at all as that typically means that it actually isn't real soon now... ;)

That looks really promising! The DM42 keyboard is the only thing keeping me on my 42S.

Has anyone had a chance to measure the key activation force, like we were doing over here for various models?

I've been too busy testing and using it to make time to measure it, but you're gonna love it. :!:

For subjective feel, think 41 keyboard - although the key travel is a bit less, it still feels remarkably similar; to my ears and fingers, it's a bit closer to a 41 than a 42, but these are just shades of a very lovely grey...

Now that sounds fantastic. I think the 41C keyboard has just about the nicest feeling keys of any calculator, so if they've gotten close to that, I imagine I'll love it (and end up buying a new-and-improved DM42 too).

I just placed an order for the new DM41X, and if the keyboard is that much better than on my old DM42 which I bought nearly three years ago, then maybe I'll buy a new one.

It does, yes. The keyboard was re-designed specifically for the DM41X and the more recent DM42 takes advantage of it.
