As along-time user of the '41, I'm sure you will find the 41X interesting and exciting, so I'd say get one while you can (there is a limited qty.) and join in the BETA testing where your experience and expertise can help to make this even better.

With a 41X, you can easily install all those exotic 3rd-party modules you wanted to buy, but could not afford, had no time to learn, etc. back in the day, such as CCD, HEPAX, ZENROM, etc. as well as many 'new' modules released in recent years for complex & matrix math, HP-16C functions, and many others.

You won't regret it! :D

This morning I switched on my HP41C and nothing happened, after fiddling with the keys some strange characters appeared.
Resetting the traditional ways didn't work, not even with a reset card I made once. Now its without battery to hopefully recover from this confusion.

I feel the calculator was sending a message, stop using me buy a HP41X, so I did this morning.
I still have the CX but I am afraid to turn it on now, maybe its a conspiracy :D

You're lucky, sometimes it takes many hours, even overnight or longer for a 41C to fully drain enough to regain control, and of course we often make it longer by inserting batteries 'just to check' after an hour or two...

Congrats on buying a DM41X, we look forward to reading your reactions.

Good idea, the DM 41x is really top.

But just a question to all. As far as you know, what is the best person or company to make HP 41C repaired. I have a problem with one of my HP 41CV, which does not want to switch on, even with new batteries.

Thank you by advance, and maybe it could help our colleague EM41, because it is a pleasure to have both (DM 41x and the HP 41CX)

Olivier,

I managed to cure the 41C by just letting it without batteries for one hour.
Shorting the terminals such as advised with the HP11 and 15 is useless because there are protection diodes.
Fore repairs in Europe I hear TheCalculatorStore in Spain does a good job but maybe there are more.
They also have many parts to repair broken things.

But try to do what I did.
- leftarrow on (soft reset) you probably tried
- leftarrow enter on (hard reset on CV and CX) doesn't work on a 41C
- clean springs in battery holder
- new batteries
- reset card
- reading a full WALL card set and interrupting in the middle
- leave without batteries for a LONG time (rprosperi suggest even more than one day)

Last option worked for me already after one hour, I never had this before in all these years but after some research I noticed its common.
With the HP11C I had this already many times.

Same for me, I am a very boring user .
I have a byteloader and keyboard and some other things on card but never used it for anything serious.
