I did already haha.
btw BEEP has a break in the first tone of the sequence of 4 on my machine.
I can hear it and a recording on audacity clearly shows it exact in the middle.
Can you or someone else check if this is common or just my machine.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Thanks for the info, I had to resolve it by removing the battery.
Did so many things till now don't know what caused it.
Glad I made a good backup.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Although it drew a strange smile from my wife watching me hold my 41X pressed to my head to listen to BEEP around 20 times, I could not hear the problem you mentioned.
I'm glad that resetting it cleared the issue, but I'm curious what the cause was, so if it comes back. please do try to keep track of what preceded that.
Glad you jumped-in and got a BETA 41X, we look forward to more feedback as you explore further.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
I hear a distinct click as the sound drops out between the first and second tone.
ETA: This is most noticeable in SLOW mode. There is no problem in FAST mode and when the 41X is attached to USB power.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Just did some tests and the drop is still there it only shifted to the very beginning of the first tone so it is more difficult to hear.
I changed from SLOW to FAST and this seems to shift the drop a bit, USB power does the same but its still there.
To prove I am not (completely) crazy, see the picture below drop is in the middle of the first tone.
(made with the built in mic of my laptop so bad quality).
BTW, its nor problematic at all for me but its there. And I love this machine already

Same here but this is normal also on the original HP41.Mark Hardman wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 6:29 amI hear a distinct click as the sound drops out between the first and second tone.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Good question I din't check the tones in detail before but now I checked tone 7 and its the same as in beep.
It goes wrong about 3 in 10 times now. Tone 9 has the same the other seem ok.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Same break in the first tone of the BEEP here (SN# 88)
Re: DM41X Beta Programme
SN#56 : same problem here, latest firmware.
The problem seem related to the keyboard scanning, interrupt or something in this line.
If you press and keep the BEEP key (shift+4) pressed and you release it just before the expiration (NULL) then the BEEP is ok.
If you press the BEEP key (shift+4) and release it very fast you get the break in the first tone and giving you a BEEP with 5 tones.
I have created the following test program:
CF 01 -> use the pattern SLOW/FAST
SF 01 -> use the pattern FAST/SLOW
CF 02 -> does not execute a PSE before the three BEEP sequence
SF 02 -> execute a PSE before the three BEEP sequence
I have run it at least 50 times and this is what I get:
CF 01 & CF 02 : all the BEEP are ok (4 tones) but on very rare occasion the first BEEP has the bug (5 tones)
CF 01 & SF 02 : the first and the fourth BEEP has the bug (5 tones) while the other are ok (4 tones).
SF 01 & CF 02 : all the BEEP are ok (4 tones) but on very rare occasion the first BEEP has the bug (5 tones)
