I concur : anyone able to give us a clue ?Craig Bladow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 5:26 amI can enter a program on the DM41X, save it to flash as a raw file, upload it to http://dm41.swissmicros.com/, decode it and get the text of the program. Going the other direction, starting with a text program file, does not seem to be as straight forward. The only choice after pasting in the text of the program is "Encode to Dump" which yields some thing like the following on the Decode tab:

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
To be picky, the power consumption on CAT varies. When stopped, CAT 1-3 goes to standby consuming low power, while CAT 4-6 draws full power all the time. This is because CAT 4-6 are add-ons that do not blend in with the original framework. To be fair, the original catalog framework was elegant in some ways, but not really made with extensibility in mind.Geoff Quickfall wrote: ↑Wed Feb 19, 2020 10:55 pm
I just pulled out the 41CX manual, appendix G and see the running clock display including seconds is a moderate current drain of .5 to 2.0 mA, not equivalent to a running program, CAT display or SW.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Until Godwin can provide a more thorough answer....
This tool makes 'dump' format files for the DM41L, which is analogous to 'state' files from other models (incl. the 41X).
Once you convert your programs to a 'dump' file format (in the window) you can copy/paste the contents to a text file (with .d41 extension) then copy that file to a 41X (in the /STATE folder) and open it as a state file.
Note that this is a full state, so includes programs, storage registers, X-Mem, etc. so if you only key in a single program, convert it using the tool and then import that file, you will only have that single program file in your machine's memory.
You can get some hints about storage formats by taking a full state file and going through the reverse process to see how various items appear.

Minor issue. Dialog displayed while in USB write mode states "Press EXIT key to end". Need to change as there is no "EXIT" key.

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Thank you for your answer. But how can we obtain a RAW file with such a state file? (on MacOS)

I do understand that DM41X is a « Beta » but if someone can avoid us to enter manually tons of programs, it would be more than appreciated

Re: DM41X Beta Programme
I've successfully been using Leo Duran's User-Code File Converter (HP41UC.exe) to convert .txt to .raw. I've not run into any problems on the DM41X yet. The utility is available on Warren's site at http://www.hp41.org/LibView.cfm?Command=View&ItemID=32.Craig Bladow wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 5:26 amI can enter a program on the DM41X, save it to flash as a raw file, upload it to http://dm41.swissmicros.com/, decode it and get the text of the program. Re: DM41X Beta Programme
Received mine three weeks ago, SN:00016 but I didn't have much time to play with it.
At the beginning, I did not find certain keys very reliable but it gets much better after a few days of use.
I have not yet noticed the blackening of the shift key, but its color is less pleasant than that of my DM42.
Great display and a sturdy feeling, I'm very happy with this unit.
Thanks a lot!
