DM48 / HP48G

Post by TomC »

We are all working against failing hardware.

A modern Swiss Micros implementation of the HP48 would be great. Displays are fading and keyboards are continuing to fail...

And a backlit display (and keyboard) would be ideal!

Thank you,
TomC

Seconded - would love to have a modern option to my 48GX.

I think this is a hopeless idea for a number of reasons. Apart from the fact that SM probably doesn't have the capacity for such a project, copyright may also a problem here. The target group also seems to be rather small, even the DB48X project hardly finds any response here in the forum.

An HP50 MK2 from the official licensees would probably be a better option.

Like the emulators today, the hardware can be released without a ROM image.

SM capability is certainly a study they would have to do and contain... . ....
