I see. I tried with numbers above 1, so obviously there was no difference.
Is there a way to accomplish what I want?

People use FIX then and drop trailing zeros. KISS.

Re: WP43/C43/C47 show current numeric display format
Although it does not answer the question, I can point out that C47 (and C43) have additional display modes SIG and UNIT (for avoiding unrealistic precision ideas, respectively for showing "SI prefix" information, like the pico or micro prefix). Useful at times, less confusion, hopefully.

Yes, these additional options are fantastic.
But the ALL n as I described it exists on cheap Casio calculators, or on CalcTastic. It’s called STD n.
It’s not useless :
If I see 1.200, I know there are hidden digits. Maybe the true value is 1.1996.
If I see 1.2, I know it’s exactly 1.2.
It’s often more useful than FIX.

Re: WP43/C43/C47 show current numeric display format
Please call SHOW and you'll see the full precision the calculator 'knows'. You'll find 'exactness' being relative very frequently due to the limited number of digits any calculator uses. That's something many calculator users are not aware of but should take into account when they talk about 'exactness'.
