The overlapping is not intended and a probable cause for the single column thing. I will list the bug. I will also look at the crash. Thanks.
Thanks for the prompt answer!
Thanks for this great calculator

Overlapping menus were fixed. You will find it in the next release.

Just out of curiosity, I see 108_09k was just released into the wild (after 108_09a)... thank you. Is there a changelog listing, similar to what Thomas Okken has on his releases?

Looking forward to the bezel.....
No we do not keep a detailed log. When doing a release here, I go to GitLab and draw a list of changes from the previous release date, look through the comments and name or discuss that in the narrative with each release.

Hi everyone!

I exprienced an anomalous behaviour with c47 - 2023-03-12-C47-distro-108_09a running on my DM42.
I connected the DM42/C47 to my Macbook air with OS X 10.11.6 and I tryed [MODE]->ActUSB
There was apparently no connection between calc and mac.
I unplugged the microusb and I had to reset the calc.
The fat was blanked.
When I tryed to connect the calc with [MODE] -> [SYSTEM] -> Activate USB Disk
everything worked as expected, no problem at all.

Have a nice weekend

That sounds like a common issue with DM42 hardware: the USB socket is slightly more recessed than normal, so many USB cables do not make a reliable connection.

Sort through your USB cables, and pick one with the longest metal plug part, mark it, and then use only that one for DM42 connections.

Mac indeed is unforgiving with usb disconnections and removsls without first ejecting. Additionally, I experience the Mac losing the Usb connection without a hardware disconnection sometimes. Could be a host of hardware issues which you can only learn to live with. I have 0 such issues on my Doze machine but I only flash from there occasionally so it is not a fair comparison.

I flash my units very often and I experience Mac blanking the flash drive maybe 3-5% of times for no apparent reason.

It does not really bother me though, in fact it is helpful because the Mac also does not voluntarily properly delete the old files, so after a while of fragging the disk and filling it up, an occasional intentional reformat does the upload speed and reliability a world if good.

I've read through all posts and didn't see my (sort of) problem raised as an issue

I flashed my DM42 (early release, S/N 00245) to C47, latest build found at your website and it worked as expected.
However, leaving it shut off overnight seemed to have drained the battery quite much. Before flash the DM42 reported 2,79V and 3 of 4 bars.
The C47 showed the "low batt" icon the next morning.
I flashed it to C47 around 23 local time, playing with it for some time and switched it off no later than 23:45.
At 06:30 next morning, the "low batt" appeared and doing the "batt" in info menu showed 2,3V.

Since I have the WP43, i reflashed back to DM42. Battery immediately showed 2,4V. Leaving it for around 6 hrs and battery went up to 2,73V. After another hour with a few on/off cycles, the battery (in DM42 mode) "settled" at 2,78V.
Note that I've never replaced the battery. It is the original delivered in the calc from SM when I received it in 2017.

Is the C47 draining battery faster, or perhaps consumes more power while in use?
I just thought of mentioning this, in case there is a bug in the battery reading code.

I managed to cause a crash :)

I _think _ what I do is try to call the Solver without having any Current Equation.
