I installed C47 version without problems. Today I have tried to update it as per readme.txt instructions in /Hardware directory.
I entered USB disk, the DM42 unit appeared in my windows 10 File Manager. I tried to copy the three new files: C43.pgm, C43_qspi.bin and testPgms.bin files but the copy process file got stuck... at say 10%... after waiting a couple of minutes, I tried to eject the disk, no way, press eject on C47 menu... no way to get a reaction...
I used a needle to press the reset button and I got the error you see on the picture...
C47-Error.jpg
I pressed the exit button and it rebooted but DM42 disk no longer appears as such, only an unformatted f: disk...
How should I proceed?
Thank you
Eduardo
Hi Eduardo,
You have a nice template on the DM42!
I've seen many crashes, and most of them can be recovered using the following procedure. In fact all of them that I had was solved this way. I have not had to do any other process - I hope this works for you too.
You need to get to the DMCP menu by pressing F1 (top left button), keeping it in while pressing a toothpick (or other suitable pin) into the RESET hole on the back side of the calculator. Once you are in the DMCP menu, go to (6) and try copying the three files again. Once there, well, try again:
Install the QSPI by pressing (4) on the DMCP menu. You may have to to the F1/Reset again. Then load the firmware by option (3) of the DMCP menu.

Shoul I format f: storage?
Thank you
Eduardo
Yes if you can. You can first try without formatting. Then try formatting via pc or via the DMCP menu (7) then (5).
Yes, a friend of mine had a print workshop and provided me... They spent so much time that he preferred to offer it to me instead of selling... He called it a R&D activity... Is laser printed over removable vynil...
Just out of curiosity, I see 108_09k was just released into the wild (after 108_09a)... thank you. Is there a changelog listing, similar to what Thomas Okken has on his releases?
I experienced a crash with c47 - 2023-03-12-C47-distro-108_09a running on my DM42.
I entered some samples to populate STAT and made some curve fitting with ASSESS.
I tried to re-open the PROB menu while the drawing of the curve fitting was displayed and it worked, but I was able to see only the first column (F1) because the drawing stayed on and didn't let me see the other items of the menu. Maybe this overlapping possibility is an error? don't know. I pressed the EXIT button two times and open the STAT --> REGR menu and tried the s(a) command on the first column and the system crashed.
After the reboot of c47 I tried to repeat the sequence and the system crashed again.
I hope I'm writing a post which is understandable and useful for the developement of this fantastic calculator.

All the best

The overlapping is not intended and a probable cause for the single column thing. I will list the bug. I will also look at the crash. Thanks.
