freeze confirmed, moreover, at times already at the first NEXTP.
(possibly USB not recognized correctly)
why? no idea, unfortunately.
edit: no dust detected, (only two yellowish diagonal lines on lcd)

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
Top right in the display, you can see whether USB connection is recognized or not. Nevertheless, finding the next prime shall work without USB as well but you will have to be 4 times more patient.
Edit: my WP43 never froze for inputs less than (2^1056 - 1000) so far.
Edit 2: the greatest prime I can find using my WP43 calculator is 2^1056 - 725; the next prime the WP43 simulator finds is 2^1056 + 1123. Just food for thoughts.

Testing with USB connected & "freeze", after "hard reset",Walter wrote: ↑Tue Mar 07, 2023 1:15 pmTop right in the display, you can see whether USB connection is recognized or not. Nevertheless, finding the next prime shall work without USB as well but you will have to be 4 times more patient.

USB connection is not detected, reconnect necessary.
Did you also have his issue?
Maybe an entry for the issues?

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
Yes, USB needs a physical reconnect to be indicated after resetting via the back button, i.e. unplug the cable and plug it in again. Looks like a bug to me...

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
just a guess:Walter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 12:02 pmA little challenge:
Take your WP43 calculator. Reset it.
Enter 1056 [2^x] 1000 [-] [NEXTP]. Finding this prime number will take your WP43 about one minute when powered through USB.
Enter [NEXTP] again to look for the next prime greater than the one just found. This causes my calculator to freeze - resurrect it by a hard reset (pressing the button behind the backside hole).
Why is this freeze?
reaching limits of processor specific DT implementation?

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
Yes in principle but it calculates e.g. 2^2000 and 2^3000 like a charm...Thomas_ER wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 9:45 amjust a guess:Walter wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 12:02 pmA little challenge:

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
small finding in one manual:
wp43-owners-manual-0.23.6.pdf ; OM p.153:
"This is all you need to know about entering and displaying long integers
– go to p. 158 for further information about calculating with them. "
should point to pg. 160

It's refreshingly quiet here but I doubt it's rightfully... Come on, test, check, and report, please.

Re: 43S Bug Reports and Maintenance
Integration accuracy issue. I'm using version 0.23.9 windows simulator.
∫ x(sin x+cos x+1) dx from 0 to 10^3
LBL 'f(x)'
MVAR 'x'
RCL 'x'
sin
RCL 'x'
cos
+
1
+
RCL 'x'
×
END
ACC: 1e-9, ↓Lim:0, ↑Lim: 1e3
WP43 gives 483662.530…, where correct value is about 500264.890…. An upper limit of integral's uncertainty(stack register Y) is 435276.691…. Surprisingly big compared to integration of the same function from 0 to 10^2.(which is 1.923e-16)
