I placed the order monday 1/11, it was confirmed 2/11.
Packing label created 5/11, left Switcherland 9/11, arrived Holland 11/11, where it apparantly still is stuck.
The expected delivery dates are shifted one day, each day that passes.
Next time I orde something from SwissMicros, I will be happy to pay more for a normal shipment.
I often buy from all over Europe, and it never takes more than 3-5 days for even huge parcels to arrive.

Honestly, that's a shame. Delivery was quicker and more reliable under the old terms. All for getting a tracking number which doesn't accelerate shipment at all. If you need support for a simple European solution, relying on the established strenghts of our postal systems, please call me. Let the US people maintain their postal system - it's their business after all.

I hope Michael is aware of that "improvement".

14 EUR is not enough for shipping?

Yes it is. What I meant, was that I would gladly have payed more, if that’s what it took, to get the calculator faster.

Could be fun to put an AirTag in one of the parcels, and see where they are halted.

The cause for a search for a better system was not driven by issues delivering slowly to US addresses, in fact delivery here, except in the very worst times in the Pandemic, were quite reasonable; I experienced 7 and 9 days myself. The real delays were with deliveries to "other" parts of the world (aka non-Europe/non-USA) and as Michael explained he was looking for a single courier that handled worldwide deliveries with a common and self-serve tracking system so customers could easily check tracking progress just as rudi did here. This system seems to add a bit of time to EU and USA deliveries, while speeding most others, and also providing customer-accessible tracking.

Surely you would not want SM to use a separate system just for your neighborhood, right?

Customs informed me today that my DM42 will not be allowed to enter EU due to breach of certain EU-regulations!

1. no CE-Sign
2. no responsible named Importer
3. no printed German manual

So far Michael didn't respond to 3 (!) emails sent in the past 10 days.....

What type of business is SwissMicros GmbH?

Sigh !
I hope not this is why my DM42S is stranded in Holland 😳

I hope you are lucky (as I was obviously with the DM41X)!

But I absolutely don't understand the behavior of Michael aka SwissMicros GmbH....in Business since years....not doing their home work...maybe too much trouble was the reason to change the shipment company...time for another "change"...or simply get CE-sign, importer and manual straight! I know this costs money and time and....but you gain the EU as market.......

Yes, international trade has lots of nice regulations. The EU has, the US have, and others have as well. Sending international packages from one person to another is easy usually, sending from a small company to a person as well, but if you want to play with the big ones for any reason whatsoever and employ a logistics company, you'll see all the relevant paperwork and regulations. And they apply!

Now I'm curious how SM will come out of this mess they chose to go into.

SwissMicros put a big label on the outside, imprinted real value and including customs declaration with "May be opened officially" etc. so they KNOW what they are doing there....and for sure they know about the EU-regulation for electrical devices (yes, one small button battery counts)!
