m48 is back as iHP48 (much improved)

m48, the HP 48GX app for iPhone, is back on the app store under iHP48 and it looks great. Full screen on my 12Pro and fairly stable. One person at the comp.sys.hp48 list said old features will be coming in future versions. Anyone into the 48 should check it out. Maybe, just maybe, one day we will get a SwissMicro 48GX variant.

Thanks ! Apparently, it can also be configured to emulate the HP 49g+, but I chose to keep it as the HP 48GX. My physical calculator is an HP 48SX.

Full screen would be great if there wasn’t the notch hiding most of the upper screen. The screen should be a little down, you should have the status bar and then the screen beneath it.

And you cannot use kml files because iHp48 uses xml files instead, so you have to convert the kml files first if you want to use other skins.

The App does NOT extend into the notch.

It doesn’t for the hp48g but it does for the hp49g+/50g and the 48s.

I guess I’ll just have to adapt my hp48sx skin.
Nevertheless it’s great to have the hp48 back on the iPhone.
I do have an ipa for the m48+ but it’s good to have someone working on it and this make it available to other people.

I’m more concerned about loading my programs from m48 to iHP48. Am I over looking that feature? I’ve keyed in the one program that lead me to SwissMicros after m48 died. I’m glad I found this place and two DM48 units, but I long for a DM48.
