Perhaps there are delays due to unexpected problems, or uncontrollable problems (such as the current global chip shortage).

There isn't much they can do about chip shortages. In particular the lead times on STM32 microcontrollers are horrendous at the moment.
A year after a content-poor video that came after a long time without any information, the DM32 teaser is rather sad.

Like I wrote last year:

...I still criticize the lack of customer proximity and poor communication. And I can't imagine that the global chip crisis could have anything to do with it.

We have been preparing the release of the DM32 for a while now, and it was last scheduled for Q4 2022.
Both the hardware and software are in good shape, but still need work.
The STM32L4 CPU used in the DM42 is popular and used in many other projects worldwide. So, especially during the global chip shortage, many more are standing in line for this particular CPU.
Last year, STM released a new CPU generation, the STM32U5 series. We instantly placed a large order for this chip.
About a month ago, we received a delivery confirmation from the distributor for October this year.
We decided to turn this into an opportunity and chose to upgrade the DM32 platform to a faster, more energy-efficient CPU.
We will also change the USB socket to USB-C.
It is a frustration to us not to be able to make the release announcement yet, but we believe the added features will make the extra wait worthwhile.

Good to hear some updates! I'm really looking forward to a DM32, I've anticipated it for many years and I'm happy if it really comes out! Is Q4 2022 still the schedule?

Thanks for the information. In this way, speculation is at least steered a little in the right direction.

Thank you Michael for this update.
You have answered my 2 questions :
- timeline for DM32 and direct Swissmicros communication in this forum (rather than "gossips" elsewhere)
- lack of updates on other models because you are busy moving to a new better plateform

See you then in Q4 2022 either for a DM32 presentation or new communication from you with updates.
Sincèrement, Sincerely, 73,
Boubker
