The price is quite reasonable IMHO, but shipping to USA unfortunately doubles that. Too bad...
Usually it's the other way around. So let us enjoy once at least...

Please feel free to send me Goats, Pigs and/or Calfs, and I will be more than happy respond with tanned leather... (after dinner of course).

Not affiliated, but these cases on e-barf should fit a WP-34s. The person seemed reasonable, but I didn't discuss other size options.

That might be a lead to check before I have to BBQ Wilber...

FYI - I asked Valenta if the Durban could be made w/o the loop. They confirmed and pointed out that it would take about 4 weeks to make it.

It's the Durban Black 4XL. That does have a belt loop, unfortunately, but it is flat, so it's not in the way fortunately.
Depends. IMO it does have a belt loop, fortunately, and its dimensions suit my smartphone as well (no iPhone). :D

I think it's a shame that it has that hole, presumably to help with pushing out the device?

I think so. But I think/hope it also helps prevent corrosion, since it allows a bit of air flow (more wishful thinking than anything else maybe).

TBH, I never realised that one could ask for a model without the belt loop ;-) But in reality, it also doesn't bother me, since it's essentially a flat piece of leather.

Hello, I searched for and found a skilled leather craftsperson with an interest to help.

A leather shop, I found on Etsy, located in Spain called Ludena Leather could help the community. The owner, Almudena, says she can design silk lined fine leather calculator cases for the DM42. Cases like the HP17bii magnetic snap cover and also like the HP17bii slip case. The shop needs help with calculator dimensions, requirements, other ideas, and also if anyone may help communicate in Spanish it may help the design process. https://www.ludenaleather.com/about

I said I would make an introduction. And, Almudena can read follow-ups and post pictures of leather case prototypes.

Thoughts?

This looks very promising. Dimensions are very helpful, but having a physical product to check against might speed up the process and avoid too much back and forth. Maybe someone could lend them a DM42? (I would be happy to, but one of mine is at work where I can't get it at the moment since we're not allowed in the office, and the other I'm using for WP43S development.)

Hi, good idea. Their email is ludena.info [!at] gmail.com

I just bought a DM42 and am in the USA and waiting for it to arrive myself.

Anyone close to Spain able to loan temporarily to the business to do a mockup? They then can show us all the results on this forum.

They will consider doing other calculator model cases for us, too, if there is interest.

And, silk lined. :D

A concept as well to consider in addition to HP17bii designs:
