Yes, it is. Progress is a snail. But it's close to the target line. You can test the present state of development either on your PC or on a DM42 - please see the Reference Manual.

I would humble and happily buy one as well!
I’m the Required one.

I found two links but I'm not sure where to look, actually.
- This one seems to be a 2-year old layout(?)
- this one seems to be emulator and firmware, but the links to the manuals are 404'ed.

EDIT: there's a deployment section with the 2nd link, I think that must be it. I'm not using gitlab, and I didn't see the links here or on the general project page on Sourceforge, so this wasn't clear to me.

If a custom model was made from the DM42, I'd buy one too. :)

Only caveat: IF the keys are reliable. My DM42 has unreliable keys so I'm waiting a confirmation from SwissMicros that it can be replaced by the new version on my model, and to test it to be sure, because I'm not really into buying expensive decorative-only calculators anymore. ;) I think new models shouldn't have those issues anymore though.

I heard of the WP34S, of course, but I wasn't familiar with it. I find the keyboard project for the 43S somewhat overloaded and I regret that the bottom left & right columns were swapped (personal preference and habit) but I think that it's just the matter of getting used to it, after which it should be perfectly fine. The menu system and the general handling is quite smart and practical, I like it. It's obviously been carefully thought over.

A few decisions are strange though, like having a // and MOD operation available on direct keys but no x^2 or x^y which IMO are used much more frequently and which I'd certainly miss a lot.

PS: I saw that it was possible to calculate combinations and permutations of non-integer and even complex values, is that intended or should an error message be thrown instead? Or maybe it has some application for those values? That being said, it's just more flexible so except if the user wishes some safeguard, it doesn't hurt. Likewise, x! is actually gamma(x+1) and allows those values too.

Correctly observed. SourceForge contains a pointer for our old friends who know us from the WP34S since 2011. More up-to date is what's found here. This is the address we also post with each new release. I can't confirm your last observation though - if and when you click on the manual links (no pun intended) of the release, the manuals will open like a charm. Please try again.

Hardware-wise, we rely on SwissMicros so far.

Thanks for your friendly words. BTW, if you want to see an overloaded keyboard, look at the WP34S - and many users confess they like it.

x^2 as well as y^x are just 2 keystrokes away, e.g. [EXP] [y^x]. Feel free to suggest a better solution but comply to what's written under Layouting in the ReM, p. B-11, please.

Rest assured it's intended - both were featured in the WP34S this way already.

I can confirm that the two links on the home page are 404 here also.

I'm having no trouble accessing them, however just to be clear...

On this page:

https://gitlab.com/Over_score/wp43s/-/releases

I can download both manuals by simply right-clicking on each manual link and selecting "Save Link as..." and specifying where to save the file. Just verified again now. (Using Firefox on Windows)

Or, you can simply left click on any link, and it will automatically download to your "Downloads" folder on your computer, assuming it's a PC.
