SHOW is a rather myopic experience, but I guess that's from the 43S code?
Nothing's smaller than the prints on the keyplate

PS: I pressed FN1 for pi, then f[SHOW].
H2X, is this better for your eyes ??
I modified [SHOW] experimentally, to print the REAL type larger, at this moment for REAL's only. A real will take up maximally 2 lines, with both X and Y visible.
The problem was that the SHOW digits and the X and Y digits are now the same size and when the screen is full it gets a bit confusing.
My solution to this was to add the << >> characters to differentiate from stack levels X and Y, and shift the SHOW digits to the left for short REALs.
Another solution would simply be to blank all four lines X,Y,Z,T for SHOW, then there will be no confusion. I like this idea more.

I could fairly easily do the complex number SHOW too, as a complex number will fit into four lines on the screen.
Doing it for long integers is a bit more involved with variable size letters.
Comments? Is this mod a keeper? I am for it.

I am able to read the fine print still, but who knows how long it will last. And surely some users are bound to struggle. After all, we are expecting the Parkinsons, so why not go the whole hog...
The first screenshot looks messy to me, the second not so much (not it's fault, though), but blanking all four lines sounds like the right thing to do. Maybe even blanking the menu (if visible) and use the whole screen for the long integers?

Actually, why NOT blank as much as possible during SHOW?
OK, maybe keep the menu if the space isn't needed, but use that too if it is?

It is blanking the screen and menu now.
I think I should leave have the softmenu remain, as the large print is for REAL and COMPLEX and for those I need only four large lines, no more, so there will be no situation where the menu space is needed.
The examples here have the whole screen cleared.

I agree, leave the softmenu.
Good job!

I really screwed up that sentence in my last post. Let me rephrase completely, rather that edit that text too much:
Clearing the screen fully, is better especially since the larger letters increase clutter as well. The examples in my last post SHOW the X register with the screen devoid of registers and menu.
While the softmenu currently is not visible during SHOW, it is active still, so if you press a FN key while in SHOW, the function that is not shown on the screen will still happen. I don’t like that and will find a way to stop that. Best would to temporarily have the ‘no menu’ state, then to pop back the last menu after SHOW exits.

I agree again, SHOW should be a cul-de-sac. A modal dialog, as some people would say.
The only thing I can imagine
could make sense, is using the arrows to cycle through and SHOW the values of the other registers (without rotating the stack).
BTW, this could apply to constants as well, yes?

Interesting idea. The up/down the stack registers if I can.
Maybe precede the value with X: or Y:, etc. For now I’ll only think about the stack registers, until I see how VIEW works when that is done on 43S.

Or utilising the softmenu space for this?
The softmenu space might be put to interesting use if we do something similar with constants as well.
Getting ahead of myself (fart warning), there might be some operations which might be assigned to softkeys in this SHOW mode, e.g. copy, print, take screenshot, show next / previous chunk of decimals...
Edit: increase / decrease font size for readability or showing more decimals...
Edit2: toggle ENG / SCI mode (temporarily)...
