RBR is unintuitive, and STATUS could mean many things - often too many.

Maybe R.BR (to stay close to WP43S) and B.STATE (to stay in pattern of ".").
H2X wrote:

But if REG.BR, maybe STATUS can stay?
A few points:
In the spirit of the 42S:
1. a single word should be enough.
2. The word should aim on the item viewed, not the viewer, so .BR or .VW is out.
3. The items viewed are: Global Registers and stack. Global flags. Stack is a collection of registers, so stack falls away. Both are global, so global falls away.
4. So, the words should be REGISTERS and FLAGS. But flags are used already and has a fixed slot already.
5. I don’t like ‘bits’ for flags. Bits are the technology behind. In the same way registers are bytes or words which shouldn’t be used.

6. Options:
6a. REGS maybe then. NO need for BR. Fits in. Short enough. Descriptive.
6b. REGISTR for a long option. Short may be better.
6c. GFLAGS for a long name.
6d. FLSTATS or FLGST or FSTAT or FSTATS also long options.

7 letters are the max length. But I had to cut ‘COMPLEX’ to ‘COMPLX’ last night to fit into the menu block.

6c. GFLAGS for a long name.
6d. FLSTATS or FLGST or FSTAT or FSTATS also long options.
REGS, then? It's short, descriptive, and intuitive. And hints to the first R in RBR.

I see it now. I think it sits perfectly on the [ENTER] key already. Why divert attention away from here?

Of all the other options (barring FLAGS), FSTAT rolls off the tongue?

It is fine where it is. I added it to the 4th HOME screen for shiftless operation. And the names must be the same in the emulator screen/buttons.

On the actual template it can creep back to correct COMPLEX.

With STATUS and STAT already on the keyboard, should other uses of "stat" be avoided?

REG.B

and

P.FCN and X.FCN and ALPHA.FCN

would restore symmetry?

... I added [COMPLX] to the 4th HOME screen for shiftless operation...
It might be useful for some. I do imagine that the close proximity between the [SHIFT] and [ENTER] keys will make a stronger impression in my own muscle memory, than moving from the lower part of the keyboard where number entry happens, and all the way up to the top row.

It's still simmering, but maybe some more complex math functions on the 4th HOME screen might involve the soft keys more in complex calculations and defend COMPLX's assignment there?

Edit: I should perhaps mention that I use my left thumb to press [SHIFT] and [ENTER] when I can. For single-handed operation, I'd probably use my right hand, and shiftless operation might be more appealing.

REG.B
FLG.V or FLG.S or GFS.V

P.FCN

If the words are strong enough, symmetry for the viewers are not needed. .B adds clutter. I think REGS is the strongest contender. Especially being directly left of VIEW.

B.BR is the hard one, with FLAGS, STAT and BITS already being used. And with REGS, if there is no case for symmetry in viewers, I would try go for a dot-less word here as well.

FLAGV

I think the V makes it sufficiently different from FLAGS, and steers clear from STATUS.

Removing the vowel. I.e FLGV makes it awkward.

About P.FCN: There are three FN words already, P.FN, X.FN and a.FN. I think that is ok.
