Hi Jaco,
With latest release on Window 10
In EQN

This trivial equation works correctly for all values (result = 0) except for + or - pi().
Bug a.jpg

Still in the equation editor, in EDIT mode, if I quickly press F1 3 times (go back), the system enters the text Max ???

Greetings
Thanks! I'll find the issue and fix!
I love the kind of hard testing - it must pass your testing as well!
Same goes the F6 key, thanks!

This is a WP43S bug - I listed it there.

I could not repeat the error on the same version but on my Mac.

Can repeat the error - the Max error is on the Windows simulator only and does not affect the Mac simulator.
Max error sounds like a Boeing problem ... hope not ... will find it.

.
We have another C43 update software for you, at the normal place, here: download page, scroll down to the yellow link which is always the latest.

Sadly, the code is getting too big to make it fit into a qspi-less PGM. This release does not have the usual qspi & non-qspi, it has only the qspi version and simulator.

If we cut enough functions to fit without qspi, we would need to cut all the previous cuts as well as programming, all graphs and some more stuff. There seems to be no sense in stripping that many functions - it becomes useless.

What is new: many under the hood changes, bugfixes, improvements, etc. We went on a culling spree and trimmed the CONV and MODE menus until they were as sparse as possible, but no sparser; We realized we previously upgraded SHOW for number bases, complex, real but never to SHOW an angle; so angles are now SHOWed in full 34 digits which is the point of SHOW, but also a single line per DEG, RAD, GRAD, MULpi and DMS, like the following example where I did

Code: Select all

30 D>R SHOW
.
Clipboard01.png
Clipboard01.png (4.03 KiB) Viewed 1234 times
Radians top, next: multiples of pi, next: degrees, next: degrees minutes seconds and lastly, gradians. As usual (in C43), SHOW clears the screen so you can see better. To prevent confusion and to state clearly it is not X, Y, Z, T on display, the X: is clearly printed.

There are still open bugs to fix - so if your reported bug is not yet fixed: we promise to get there as soon as possible, but no sooner.

I've surprised C43 key font changed into windows default font after launch latest version. (for me malgun gothic)
Installing C43 font, everything turns ok. Looks like now I can't use WP43S font with C43.

I also try uninstalling C43 font and got same result like above.

You probably need to install the WP43 font. Since WP43S changed named to WP43 the font name changed and you will need to install the font with the new name.

You should be able to simply install both fonts. I have both installed on my Mac. And both sims work well.

I have not installed both on Windows myself (yet) so I can’t tell you 100% that it works, but the font names are unique, I see no reason why you can’t have both. It’s like having Times New Roman as well as Arial on your pc. The names are different, therefore the fonts are different.

Content wise, C43 font is the same as WP43 except for C43 has 6 more glyphs. But I always add those 6 to any new WP43 font and all happiness.

Edit: both fonts changed: yes the names changed, but more importantly, many more glyphs were added by WP43, and C43 followed suit.

I've tried on Windows with this version: 2022-10-19_108_07_Release.ZIP (found on https://classic43.com/Classic43/C43.html).

The c43.cmd.txt file seems outdated (sorry if I missed the readme), but I found the following fonts in a subdirectory: C43__NumericFont.ttf, C43__StandardFont.ttf, WP43_NumericFont.ttf and WP43_StandardFont.ttf (the last has the same name as the WP43S' font but the files are different, probably best not to install this one).

I installed C43__StandardFont.ttf (which was recently renamed with 2 underscore chars, I think) and it seemed to work. :) So if it was installed before, maybe the new version needs to be installed. No conflict with the WP43S WP43_StandardFont.ttf of course.

I suppose the others are variants that need to be renamed to C43__StandardFont.ttf? I haven't tried.

Hi Jaco,
What is the status of the "MAX" bug in the equation editor?
In the WINDOWS version on Mac it is still there!
Ditto for sin(x)-sin(x) with x=pi()
No other problems found for the moment.

Greetings to all.

The confusion will be reduced if you install the new fonts in the 108_07 distro - all four fonts.

Yes the file names purposely changed. The new four files mentioned are all new, with new file names and new font names. That means the represent "new" fonts and will work. It also means that if you run old simulators they will also work.

However, if you want to do the job neatly, uninstall and remove all older C43 and WP43S fonts that you can find on your pc and then install the four new C43 and WP43 fonts mentioned.

(Edit: Strictly if you will only run either C43 or WP43, then you need only install one font - the related Standard font. But it cost nothing to install all and not worry about it)
