I see a programming contest coming up48GX wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 5:06 pmI will be sure to ask you to help me evaluate a double integral when the time comes.EM41 wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 4:22 pm48GX,
I really hope there will be a DM48 for who wants one, just not for me.
Maybe its my programming style, some of the colleagues hate me for it, i usually solve my problems with 5 lines of code where they need 20 or more including subroutines preferably object oriented and for most part completely unreadable from a math point of view.
I leaned programming in assembler on a 8051, Z80, 8080 and never lost the habit of making short and efficient code, maybe I am just becoming old

Double integrals?
If you had bought a DM41X rather than a DM42 you could use the SIROM module by our friend Ángel Martin.

But since it contains FOCAL programs for double integrals, you could at least have a look and type them onto the 42.
Or these, by J.M. Ballard

When I am able to place an order, I will pick one up. It seems I have found my support group...akaTB wrote: ↑Thu May 21, 2020 7:32 pmDouble integrals?

I ended up reducing to a single integral. I have another one I’m working on now. If this reduces to a single integral I’ll be set.
The 43s is now my object of desire. I have two DM42 units and love them, but the 43s is really going to change my life.
Would still support the DM48 all the way.

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
I am not a mathematician but a radio engineer so I was pleased to see that Bolzmans constant is included in the DM43, don't know if any other calc has this. Yes I would like to have one too but I am not sure if it will fully replace the 41.
I wrote a set of complex functions and some matrix stuff for it in 1984 because I had no money for the math module and now with the 41x and angels modules there is not much I wish more in a calc besides precision, the DM42 does that nicely for the few cases I need it.

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
There is no such thing as a DM43 as far as I know. Do you mean the WP43S, which happens to be intended for the same hardware platform as the DM42 and DM41X?
There are only 10 kinds of people in the world: those who understand binary and those who do not.
Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
Yes of course WP43S, I am mixing up things with all those new developments.
And my nick doesn't imply anything under development, just a matter of choosing another name for each site I am active on

Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
If you're to go as far as the 48, why not the 50g? I had a 49gII but someone borrowed it and never returned it so I bought a 50g later. While I love the 50g I really would like a display with the quality of the DM42's along with the speed and precision.
Re: DM 48 .... WHY NOT ?!!!
The 48G series has the best keyboard layout layout imho. I also have several 49G+ and 50G calcs and default to my 48G every time.
Of course I want a better screen, larger in fact, and more speed. Lots more speed and accuracy. Which means I’m ok with the 50G firmware but seems easy enough to load a ROM for the 48.
