The landscape/portrait thing doesn't come into it as far as I'm concerned; I'm equally at home with either.
Thanks for your input.
I have no reasonably or rational explanation of why I don't like landscape calculators.
What I *definetly* don't like, is credit card size calcs. I have one, bought for NOK 15,- (~€1,75), though not RPN, and it's way to small for my clumsy fingers as I hit 3-4 keys at a time..
But, I'd still buy a DM41L (some time), and maybe (most probably) my disliking of the landscape will fade :)

I started using programmable calculators in the late 70's (Ti58).
Just before passing my Baccalauréat in the early 80's, I was offered an HP41(C?) and felt in love with RPN programming! I don't have it any more...
Then, during my Engineering School I switched to Sharp Calculators with Basic programming...

Recently, I wanted to get back to RPN calculators and programming, and especially try yo have an HP41C/CX again (due to good memories of me playing with it back when I was 18)...

I did some research on the net to find 1) HP41C/CX available on an auction site, then 2) the HP41CL, then 3) the DM41L of SwissMicros.
I then found the WP34s searching the net and hesitated between it and a HP41 (or equivalent)...
I ordered the DM41L, and am quite impressed with quality, speed, connectivity AND LANSDSCAPE FACTOR!
I immediately ordered one DM15L, then a DM42 (that never made it to home), then a second DM15L then an other DM42 (that made it to home)...

The big advantage of the DM41(L) over the HP-41C is the speed increase (and that is going to get even better with the soon-to-be-released V26 firmware, which is running on mine and showing about a 15% speed gain in a loop with a bunch of transcendental functions).
That's quite a sneak peek @grsbanks!
Sincèrement, Sincerely, 73,
Boubker

DM15L, DM41L, DM42 #00855 (domes upgraded), DM41X #00707
HP48SX (with dark screen), HP42s, HP32SII (1990 with fraction bug), HP41C/CV
TI-89 titanium, CASIO fx-cg50 and Numworks (to play with micropython)

Just trying to keep everyone interested :)

When I was first shown a RPN calculator I thought it was kind of strange. After learning to use it, I was totally sold on the idea. Having a four number stack to work with is awesome. In the event that I use an algebraic calculator I stumble because I'm so use to RPN. Consequently, as most at this forum have probably done, I've installed RPN calculators on my computers, and phones.

It is interesting how I find the DM15L so much easier to program than the HP35c, but that probably relates to me using a 11c and 12c for so many years. It will probably be about two weeks or so until the DM42 I ordered arrives. It will be interesting to see how that compares in ease of use. Of course, with that monster display and being able to have x, y, z, t visible all the time, if you want, has got to make things easyer!

Uh oh, I am feeling a need to start checking into the DM41L...I am also interested, and getting poorer (at least financially).

Don't count on it.
Keyboard rearrangement on DM41 is an abominion. :!:

Signore Massimo, if you'd say "abomination" I'd say 1+. ;)
WP43 SN00000, 34S, and 31S for obvious reasons; HP-35, 45, ..., 35S, 15CE, DM16L S/N# 00093, DM42β SN:00041

Herr Walter, that's what I wanted to write (rather than say) but... fat fingers do what they want, sometimes at least.
