Got the build. Noticed I needed GTK3 Runtime, so installed that.
I run wp43s.exe and get "The procedure entry point InflateReset2 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\...\Win64\bin\libpng16-16.dll.
It is follow by anther similar message for deflateSetHeader. I run on Windows 10 64-bit. I installed GKT3 for Win64. Did I misunderstand the intructions for installing?
Thanks for raising this issue - we appreciate feedback and are trying to make the installation process as simple as possible so that anyone can try out the simulator or the firmware for the DM4x calculators no matter what technical background they have.

You didn't misunderstand the installation instructions. In fact, I'm able to reproduce this issue on my work laptop (but not on my other Windows 10 installation!), so I'll see if I can find an easy solution. We'll try and get this improved for the next release.

Thanks again!

Did I install the wrong GTK3 Runtime? or is this because of running the Win64 flavor?
The WP43S team recommends to use gtk3-runtime from here.

I can't justify what the reason is. Sometimes it just works according to instructions, sometimes you have to copy (not move) the two dlls libpng16-16.dll and zlib1.dll from 'c:\Program Files\GTK3-Runtime Win64\bin\' to where 'wp43s.exe' is located. And I have seen cases of Windows installations where even this trick does not work.

Thanks for this comment Dani. Walter created an 'issue' on the project page here: https://gitlab.com/Over_score/wp43s/-/issues/784

I've added your comment there.

Seems there are no more voters queuing. Thanks to those who cast their votes.

So EXP and SQRT shall become primary following your votes. And FILL shall go to f-shifted ENTER for sake of logic while STATUS is dropped from the keyboard (after all, it's primary in FLAGS). And there is no need for a special menu ELLI since we've got a free third view in X.FN still. Consequences due to hole conduction:
  1. INTS goes to g-shifted EXP.
  2. BITS becomes blue.
  3. SHOW goes to f-shifted minus for space reasons.
  4. DSP appears on f-shifted E, allowing for quickly changing the number of displayed decimals while keeping format selection (FIX, SCI, ENG).
  5. x<> appears on f-shifted x<>y since it was missing there.
  6. CPX fits better on g-shifted CC. Angle becomes golden and ABS has to move.
  7. Then STK fits on g-shifted R_down.
  8. A shifted x^2 is of no use. So ABS can go to g-shifted SQRT where it can prevent unwanted complex results.
  9. L-> moves to g-shifted TRI since it belongs there. So π has to move.
  10. U-> moves to g-shifted x<>y since it looks fitting there.
  11. Well, let's move TIMER and CLK to 6. So CONST and π can go to 3 (after all, π equals 3.14...).
  12. A final swap of LOOP TEST and I/O PRINT, and the print character stands next to PRINT.
The overall result looks like this:

That's it. What do you think? (Never start a keyboard modification unless you are able to finalize it.)

Oops, there were more changes than I initially expected. But I like it. It has a nice overall logic :D

Beautiful.
Thanks for including the reason behind each change - it seems well thought out to me.

Everything falls into place with both aesthetic and scientific logic. I like it very much.
I just think it's a shame to overdo the construction of the keyboard buttons by using 3 colors.
Couldn't we leave all the buttons in HP brown?

I actually do like the full color shift keys, and it's not like they are not typical for HP.
