With the PC version, the keyboard labels change automatically depending on which menu choice is selected. This is a great feature.
I can't wait to see that on the hardware version!

I haven't seen this mentioned, but there is this program for the DM42 (and others) that implements Casio-style engineering suffixes: https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-13096.html
Re: 43S News
Interesting, but reading the description of how it operates it would be pretty cumbersome.darrylo wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 5:48 pmI haven't seen this mentioned, but there is this program for the DM42 (and others) that implements Casio-style engineering suffixes: https://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-13096.html
Looks like I will have to stick with my Casio fx-991MS.

Re: 43S News
In the last version of the WINDOWS simulator ver. 20.3
I wanted to write in alpha mode "if a==vara"
to write the "=" I activated the menu CATALOG/CHARS/𝛂MATH .
by double pressing F3 I should get "==".
In fact I get "===" and not "==". By triple pressing I get "=====". To get actually"==" I have to press slowly.
This behavior was already present in the previous version (20.2) but not in C43
Is there a reason for this behavior that I don't understand? I did not find an explanation in the help files.

This is a coaching calculator, it dampens your rush.
And it's a medical calculator: if you see === after pressing F3 twice, you should go for a Parkinson check.
Seriously: I can reproduce what you observed. Easy cure: please press slower. We'll look into it in the meantime.
EDIT: That seems to happen on the simulator only. The calculator works as advertized. Please check.
EDIT2: Fixed. Will be available with next release.

Re: 43S News
Release 0.20.4 is here https://gitlab.com/Over_score/wp43s/-/releases. There is a little change on the keyboard (do you find it?) and some bug fixes. The keyboard template on the penultimate page of the Reference Manual is updated, too. Elliptic functions and integrals will come with next release. In the present release package is everything you may want to try, test, and check the 43S on your computer or your DM42. Please look into the current manuals to see what's possible so far.
Enjoy!
And if you discover anything suboptimal, please report. There are certainly some issues - who finds one will get 25 test points. Even if your attempt to install the 43S in whatever environment should fail, this information is appreciated - we will help you out.

Re: 43S News
Hi Walter
p209 RefMan
I have a little problem reading the overlay design
What does the 10.4 in the upper right corner represent ?
If it is the distance from the top of the first tab it should be (89.5-(2*30+3*3))/2 so 10.25cm.
It would also be more coherent and clear to indicate the 3.8 dimension between the top keys with an arrowed dimension like for the bottom keys.
greetings

Re: 43S News
Hi Pierre,
You have supposed the tabs are vertically centered, that they aren't.
If you see the dimensions, the distance between the upper keys to the upper end is 3.55mm, while the distance from the lower keys to the lower end is 3.25mm.
Regards,
Manuel.

Re: 43S News
Bonjour Pierre,
the drawing on p. 209 of the ReM was taken over from SwissMicros without changing anything. They have a ... ummh ... special way of stating dimensions, but it's not my task to teach them, hence I wrote two notes on said page. AFAIK, the dimensions given on said drawing are ok though.

Re: 43S News
Ok, I understand. I think that mistakes should be avoided by also giving the odds from below.
And what do you think about the 3.8 dimension?
