I am testing on DM42 and I find it all very exciting. There is so much to discover that I'm getting dizzy.
Question: on the layout ON is at the bottom right like OFF. But to access the ON I find it at the bottom left. Is this what is planned?
I am looking forward to the machine with the real keyboard.
Thanks for the work of all the developers.

Merci beaucoup pour votres mots amicales.
It depends on you where you find ON when you leave WP43S. Please see p. 206 of the Reference Manual, point 3. It reads:

Did you copy keymap.bin ?Copy WP43S.pgm and WP43S_qspi.bin onto the DM42 flash disk. (Option: Copying also keymap.bin to the DM42 flash disk will reassign keys to match the WP43S layout also after leaving WP43S. Unless you have done this, EXIT / ON stays bottom left.)

Re: 43S News
No, I didn't. This point had escaped me (there is so much to read!). So everything is OK. I am very impressed by the quality of the documentation and the software.
Congratulations again.
Congratulations again.

Re: 43S News
I am reading the manual to familiarize myself with the keyboard and instructions on DM43S.
I am at:
Recording a New Routine
Whenever you want to enter a new routine, switch to PEM ...
At this point, I can't start writing my routine. I can't do the GTO.. command. (I can enter the first "." but not the second!)
Also in the PEM mode the command ⬅︎ produces a crash with the following indications:
Hard Fault
r0=20010d2c r1=00000000
r2=40021a59 r3=20010d2d
r12=00000000 lr=0807cef5
pc=08090468 psr=21010000
And it restarts with a reset.
Does this mean that for the moment it is not possible to use the EMP?
Greetings

Re: 43S News
Everything related to programming is still (for how long?) under construction.
So I'm afraid you must wait!

Re: 43S News
You can do almost everything, though just almost. More specific: Almost everything but the contents of ADV, EQN, and P.FN ahould work. There should be some red marks in the IOI corresponding to this statement.
As long as this project is not finished, the IOI indicates what should be working or not, the Owner's Manual just tells what is specified. If a command is marked grass-green in the IOI it should work as specified. Right now you can browse existing programs but you can't change them or create new ones. Sorry. This will come later.
I sincerely hope it will never be possible to use the - unspecified - EMP (you're old enough to know the meaning) on this device but PEM will hopefully work soon.

With the current release, you can calculate with times and dates, with integers of various bases, with real and complex numbers, vectors, and matrices. Also eigenvalues and eigenvectors are computed automatically. You can look for primes featuring up to 1000 digits and check them. You can solve quadratic equations automatically. You can do all sorts of bit manipulations. At the bottom line, you can do almost everything except programming and calling all contents of ADV, EQN, and PRINT so far - these need some more work from us.
We think this area of opportunities is large enough at present stage to give the 43S a thorough test, be it on your PC or on the DM42 hardware. We'd love to hear about your experience, be it (US-American) great or less than that. All feedback will be used to improve 43S and so enhance your experience. Thanks in advance for your response.

Re: 43S News
Well, I didn't have any problems with the treatment of complex numbers. It is very nice to use.
But, I have a big problem with the treatment of matrices. Whatever the dimension of the matrix, the result of the product by a real number cancels the value of the matrix. The division works (2 * => [0;..;0] while .5 / => [2*m;..;2*n])
I see this phenomenon on DM42 as well as on PC!
I am waiting for a correction to test the eigenvalues.

Re: 43S News
Thanks for reporting. This problem seems to be confined to 'long integer' factors, i.e. 2. * works correctly. We'll look after it.PierreMengisen wrote: ↑Wed May 26, 2021 12:59 pmBut, I have a big problem with the treatment of matrices.
