Also tried the PRGM - RESET - PRGM sequence to no avail.
Any suggestions at this point?

DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
Re: DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
Does the unit turn on? I'd try changing batteries, even if you think the one installed is good; despite sounding obvious, this has worked for me more than once. When battery is removed, press [ON] and then reset once or twice to drain any pending charge. If no response at that point it likely means a h/w failure of some sort and you should email Michael.

Re: DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
Thanks for the input Bob. The unit is always ON, showing an ominous "3.00" in the X register. It cannot be turned off, reset, or PRGM-reset.
It feels like a hangup in the polling points but it's very strange the reset sequences don't work/
I'll try removing the battery next, fingers crossed.

Re: DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
I’m certain that removing the batteries will eventually switch the calculator off
No idea if it helps resetting though
Back in the early 80’s, I remember that when putting my HP-41CV into synthetic mode, it could hang. Removing the batteries didn’t help immediately, probably due to some capacitors holding some voltage, but shorting the battery connectors (with battery removed!) with a paper clip helped immediately. Otherwise it had to sit without battery for days to be able to start up again.

Re: DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
Nah, tried all of the above but did not work, the unit is still bricked.\
Will need to ship it to the factory, I guess... what a bummer.

Re: DM41X Unresponsive to RESET action
Isn’t there also reset buttons inside on the PCB?
I vaguely recall having seen that somewhere here on the forum. But they might just be the same as can be pressed from the outside?

Please look up p. 204 of the WP43S Reference Manual and try what is proposed there. You find it here: https://gitlab.com/Over_score/wp43s/-/tree/master/docsÁngel Martin wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 1:02 pmNah, tried all of the above but did not work, the unit is still bricked.\
