Faceplate cosmetic problems

Post by yuca »

I have just received my DM42 and it's a great calculator, but my model have badly misaligned labels in the faceplate, in special the "CLEAR" and "BST" labels. This result unprofessional for a calculator of this price.

I enclosed a image.

I'm sorry for that. I'll send you a new faceplate for you to replace.

When I received my DM42, the key label was my biggest disappointment too.

ALPHA seems left aligned to the E from ENTER, CLEAR/SST/BST on the right site to the key.

I do not understand why SwissMicros does not display a real calculator instead of a render image. The disappointment would be less.

Don't they all have that issue? The labels on mine are not centered as well, and I thought they were all like that ;)

It's not a big issue for me, to be honest ... I don't intend to sell my DM42 to anyone else, so I am the only one seeing it.

Even if I don't want to sell mine either, it's a little strange to show someone else what you spend 200 EUR for. A work colleague has already laughed at me when I showed him the DM42. ;)

I work from home

But seriously, the DM42 is on my desk every day, and I use it both for my work and privately (mainly finances). Besides, I have the same programs in Free42 on my phone, so (apart from the physical keyboard) I have a consistent experience between the two.

It is hard to think of another manufacturer offering this, so the labels being off on the face place really is only a minor concern for me.

The writings on the faceplate on the one on the left look identical to those on my beta unit.

If it bothers you, cover it with a WP34S overlay.
